Brownies…what is the secret?

Posted in Blog on August 14th, 2021 by Christi Reed

Don’t you just love a good brownie? I like to think I am a good baker. However, I am absolutely obsessed with our State Rainbow Dad, Dad Joe’s homemade brownies! They are so yummy because they have chocolate chips in them. We are now on the lookout for these amazing morsels at each event! Rumor has it they will appear at Rainbow Retreat this year. I heard Kaitlyn make a special request!!!

I think I know what his secret ingredient is…. Lots of love!

Grand Assembly Roommate Fun

Posted in Blog on August 13th, 2021 by Christi Reed

During the weekend of Grand Assembly, I roomed with my rainbow sisters, Charlye and Mary. I had such a fun time rooming with them and really enjoyed when we listened to Harry Styles sleep podcasts. They were really relaxing and helped me fall asleep. Mary even knew it word for word which was pretty impressive! I enjoyed the podcasts so much and enjoyed spending time with my roommates even more!

Rainbow Pool Party

Posted in Blog on August 10th, 2021 by Christi Reed

Last Friday on July 23rd, our Assembly had a pool party and a “Pass the Torch” event at Grace’s house. We all had a blast doing karaoke, eating pizza, and swimming of course. We played fun games and loved Dad Joe’s brownies that Grace “willingly” shared. We all tried this game where you get two towels and cross together. We spent hours trying to untie the towels. Some of the girls spent the night, but we barely got any sleep. Overall, we had a really great time, and would love to do it again.

July 18, 2021, Manassas Installation – Part 2

Posted in Blog on August 8th, 2021 by Christi Reed

After Manassas Assembly #13 held its installation of officers’ ceremony, we were welcomed into the dining hall for refreshments.  Many members were very quick to get their food and eat it so they could get changed for the next event.  The assembly members were being divided into their tribes for the term and they would compete.  The field games planned were designed to also include all the visiting members as they would be taken into the different groups for the day.  I wish I could have stayed to participate but I have summer classes right now.  Kaitlyn said that there was also a food challenge.  I just hope it was more like the reception food rather than what the Survivor show offers for food!  I hope everyone had a good time!
