July 18, 2021, Manassas Installation – Part 2

Posted in Blog on August 8th, 2021 by Christi Reed

After Manassas Assembly #13 held its installation of officers’ ceremony, we were welcomed into the dining hall for refreshments.  Many members were very quick to get their food and eat it so they could get changed for the next event.  The assembly members were being divided into their tribes for the term and they would compete.  The field games planned were designed to also include all the visiting members as they would be taken into the different groups for the day.  I wish I could have stayed to participate but I have summer classes right now.  Kaitlyn said that there was also a food challenge.  I just hope it was more like the reception food rather than what the Survivor show offers for food!  I hope everyone had a good time!

Busch Gardens Day – June 24, 2021

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2021 by Christi Reed

To celebrate our last chance to have a trip to Busch Gardens as part of Grand Assembly, Quantico-Freedom #6 planned an assembly fun event.  We arrived around noon to start our day of fun.  This was my first big outing since the pandemic began.  It was nice to get out and enjoy something normal again but many of the rides in the park were not working, there weren’t any shows, and the food services were limited.  At almost 8pm we gathered together in England for a group picture and then got ready to head to the Double Tree Hotel for the night.  This was a great beginning to a wonderful Grand Assembly weekend.

Scrapbooking June 6, 2021

Posted in Blog on July 11th, 2021 by Christi Reed

Quantico-Freedom Assembly #6 held a scrapbooking event on June 6th.  We wanted to document all the events that the assembly was able to hold in a year with a pandemic in progress.  We got a good start on the scrapbook, but we will need to hold several more sessions before we can get all the pictures in the scrapbook.  It was fun looking through all the pictures to see all the fun things we were able to accomplish under unique conditions.  I look forward to making new memories this coming grand year.
