Langley Speedway Night

Posted in Blog on August 10th, 2026 by Christi Reed

On July 4th, 2026, I spent my 4th of July by going back to the Langley Speedway and seeing the racing cars. At this past Grand Assembly, the Grand Master invited all of Freemasonry to the upcoming race. He stated that there were 1,000 tickets available for anyone who wanted to go to the race, so of course, I wanted to go! I had so much fun last year during Emily’s term, that I just had to go again! I was sitting with some of our DeMolay brothers from Kempsville Chapter. After every race, the Grand Master would give the trophy to the winner on the track, which was very cool!

I had so much fun at this event! Even though it was a little hot, we had a nice breeze to cool us down! The races were so much fun to watch. There were about 7 races with different events involving mini cars, cars with wings, and pick-up trucks. A big thank you to the Grand Master for helping us go for free!

State Event Scholarship Games

Posted in Blog on July 15th, 2026 by Christi Reed

On June 6, 2026, Virginia Rainbow hosted the State Scholarship Games at Manasseh Lodge, home of Manassas Assembly #13. Some of the games that were there included archery, cup stacking, bag races, and more. My team was called “Hamfolk Hooligans” and included Becca and Alaina from Norfolk Assembly and Gabi from Hampton Assembly. We won first place! Safe to say “Hamfolk Hooligans” made their mark! There were 5 clans that participated in the games. The hot weather did not stop everyone from having a great time!

I’m so happy I got to see all of my Rainbow sisters today. Mom Bobbie drove all of Hamfolk to and from the event. She kept saying honk honk instead of using the horn, which made us all giggle. I love riding with Mom Bobbie and my Rainbow sisters. I always have a blast at Rainbow events and can’t wait for the next one.

Portsmouth DeMolay Installation

Posted in Blog on July 15th, 2026 by Christi Reed

On May 30, 2026, Portsmouth Chapter had their installation of officers at Churchland Lodge. Sheldon went in as Master Councilor for his third term to help show those leadership qualities to the young men who are starting to make their way through the line. His continued support for the chapter shows and does not go unnoticed. This term, Sheldon was focusing on the theme “Built on Honor”. A main goal that he has for the term is to bring in more boys to the order and build relationships with the surrounding Chapters, Bethels, and Assemblies to further enhance our youth relationship. Congratulations, Portsmouth Chapter and Sheldon, on an amazing installation.

This installation was especially entertaining to watch! My favorite part was when entertaining jokes were being made during the ceremony to keep the audience engaged and laughing! The best part was for sure when we were all playing with balloons downstairs after eating. There was so much laughter and smiles from everyone! I love supporting Portsmouth Chapter and cannot wait to see all the boys grow into amazing men.

Kempsville Car Wash

Posted in Blog on July 15th, 2026 by Christi Reed

On May 30, 2026, Kempsville Chapter hosted a car wash from 8am-1pm at the popular gas station, 7 eleven. This was a very successful event. There was a great turnout of boys from the chapter to help volunteer with cleaning the cars. Many of our DeMolay adults also volunteered to help with the event, contributing to the fast cleaning service! Our own Rainbow Brother, Jonathan, was the man in charge of this event. As the Master Counselor of Kempsville, he was the one to coordinate and carry out all the planning and organizing. Big congratulations goes to Johnathan for his hard work and making this event a huge success!

Even though my brother was out of town, I still went and supported my DeMolay brothers. I helped by being the best sign twirler ever! Even though all I did was help hold the signs, I will always be present to help contribute to the success of all their service events. As a past chapter sweetheart, I still love being able to help whenever I can.
