Bake Sale

Posted in Blog on July 6th, 2018 by Webmaster

On Friday, June 1st, Rainbow had a small bake sale at a Lodge dinner. There were rice crispy treats, cookies, bread and a couple of pies. Unfortunately, I had to leave early, but before I left, Jasmyn sold our first bag of Rice Krispy treats. Luckily, Gigi was there to help fill in for me, from what I heard it was a fun evening.

My Favorite Memory

Posted in Blog on July 4th, 2018 by Webmaster

Rainbow gives you many opportunities to make long lasting memories, as well as long-lasting friends. Out of the many memories I can recall, I’d have to say my first time being apart of an Initiation has to be my favorite. It was a couple weeks after my own Initiation and I had learned the part of Nature. I was so nervous and all I remember was quickly rambling through the whole lecture. After I was done, I was so proud of myself and it made me want to learn to do more. Every time I learn a lecture, I remember my first and it makes me feel good about how far I’ve come!

School in the Winter Months

Posted in Blog on July 3rd, 2018 by Webmaster

The sky is full of clouds,
Gray like my pencil’s lead.
The wind blows my scarf,
A strong, cold breath.
Sharp, freezing rain falls,
And stings my face like an icy bee.
The grass wilts, yellow and brown,
But waiting to grow again in spring.
Other children hurry,
Awaiting the warmth of indoors.
But I stop sometimes to admire the trees,
Their hopeful branches reaching out to the hidden sun.
The yellow buses scream.
Boisterous children hurry out of their bright doors,
Their cheeks redder than fresh apples.
I walk over the frozen grass,
Flattening under my boots.
“Crunch, crunch, crunch.”
The warm glow of my school is welcoming,
Calling for me to come and get warm.
They may complain about rain or sleet,
But the students always watch for a winter flake.
Just one flake is as exciting as their birthdays.
