There was a craft fair held on October 11th at the lodge. They sold grand apparel, nail art, candles, jewelry, honey, crafts, cleaning supplies and more. There was also a stand created by Allison where she sold hand painted jean jackets and whiskey bottles. Everything sold there was awesome and everyone who showed up loved it.

Ashburn Installation

Posted in Blog on January 22nd, 2021 by Christi Reed

On August 1st, at 5:30pm, Ashburn Assembly #11 began their installation of officers. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only a limited amount of people were able to be physically present at the installation. For those who were unable to attend in-person, there was a Facebook stream that allowed others to virtually attend. I was lucky enough to have been Installing Chaplain, and therefore be able to attend the event in-person. Also, on the Installing Team from Manassas Assembly was Kaitlyn “Gigi”, as Installing Marshal, and Vanessa, as Special Installing Officer. The Installation team all performed their ritualistic parts beautifully. The newly Installed Worthy Advisor, Lorkin, then was crowned, and given pictures of her gavel, which was stuck in the mail, due to the Pandemic. Lorkin’s Term theme is “Nature’s Beauty”. Her motto is “The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn” and her colors are light gray, pure white, and pastel green. Her mascot is Totoro, a character from a movie called “My Neighbor Totoro”. But best of all are Lorkin’s Service and Charity Projects. This term, Ashburn will be doing beautification projects, as well as work with the Colvin Run Mill for events. Lorkin is looking up to be an amazing Worthy Advisor and Ashburn is sure to have an amazing 6 months.

Adopt-A-Spot

Posted in Blog on January 21st, 2021 by Christi Reed

On September 13th 2020, Manassas Assembly #13 had an Adopt-A-spot.  In Adopt-A-Spot’s we go around and pick up trash for the community.  We always make it fun because we have lots of funny and great conversations while we are picking up the trash.  It is also a great way to bond and get to know the other girls. The Assembly picked up four bags of trash and got many compliments from residents, which made us feel very good.  Afterward we all got Slurpies to enjoy on the hot day.

It is always a rewarding experience to contribute toward Adopt-A-Spot’s

Progressive Dinner

Posted in Blog on January 21st, 2021 by Christi Reed

On Saturday, September 26th, our assembly traveled back to 3 different time eras in just 5 hours! Our first stop was the lodge where we loaded into the cars and were given the clues for the first time period. We arrived at the Dawson’s house and entered the Roaring 20’s. Thank you to our host Mom Robin for the appetizers! As the time at the first house came to an end, we were given clues for the 2nd house. We adventured on our way to the house of the Martin’s and entered the 50’s time period. We had a lovely main course meal prepared by Mom Erika and Mom Paula! At this stop we watched the MCHQWA Ball virtually and cheered on the amazing co-host of the show, from our hometown, Vanessa! When the zoom ended, the clues for the final location were revealed. We were then on our way and arrived at the Kiffer’s house for a Colonial themed dessert. We had desserts by candlelight and were served by Mom Nancy and Mr. Zachary.

We had a great night bonding with our sisters and experiencing different types of food from our great hosts. Thank you to our Rainbow adults for making this event possible!
