Supreme Assembly

Posted in Blog on January 20th, 2021 by Christi Reed

The weekend of July 25th and 26th was our very first virtual Supreme Assembly! Obviously, we had to make a lot of changes this year, but the virtual session went really well and was a super creative solution that let us all still be together. As Virginia Rainbow, we were lucky to have several girls chosen to participate in the sessions, four of whom were from our very own Manassas Assembly. I wrote and presented the Sunday devotional message, Alyssa sang in the devotional and in the choir, Vanessa was a flag-bearer, and Gigi was an acting Supreme Officer. We were all very proud to represent Virginia Rainbow. I hope we can all meet in person for the next Supreme Assembly, but this one was still amazing.

Vertical Rock

Posted in Blog on January 20th, 2021 by Christi Reed

After eating dinner at Fosters Grill everyone went to Vertical Rock. Everyone that went had a lot of fun. I was able to make it up a lot of walls. But I was really struggling with one in particular. It was this red one and I could not get up that one. I tried so many times. Then when I finally gave up Sam just climbed right up to the top and had no problem. We are very competitive, so she rubbed it in my face for the rest of the night.

Rock Climbing

Posted in Blog on January 19th, 2021 by Christi Reed

Vanessa climbed up the wall with no rope. She was clipping the rope to the wall as she went. Which was pretty cool but also kind of scary. I wouldn’t be able to do it.  Well she thought it would be a great idea to give us all a heart attack and “fall” off the wall. If you blinked you would have missed the fall. It was crazy!

Ghost Tours

Posted in Blog on January 19th, 2021 by Christi Reed

After the craft fair a bunch of girls met at the lodge before we headed off to Old Town Alexandria for the ghost tours. When we got there, it was raining so we all had to get umbrellas. We met our tour guide and she lead us through the town with some sad but fascinating stories. Once the tour was over, we all got gelato at one of the buildings the tour guide had a story about. I don’t know about the other girls, but I defiantly smelled the smoke.
