Hampton visits the Fire Station

Posted in Blog on July 26th, 2016 by Webmaster

Hampton at the Fire StationToday, Hampton Assembly visited our local fire station where my aunt works. We had so much fun talking to the firefighters and touring the station. I loved seeing all of the equipment they use and hearing some of the stories they have to tell. The Girls and I even got to sit in the fire truck. We got to see their living quarters and we brought them some food to go with their dinner. Just a small gesture to thank them for their service to our community.  We also got to explain Rainbow to the firefighters and they loved the idea of our service work. I hope to go back in the future and see them again.

The Child ID event on July 9th at the Hanover Tomato Festival with the Masons of Washington & Henry Lodge was a great success.  We’re very grateful to have been invited to such an important event and we were eager as well as happy to help alongside the Masons.  The kids there were especially nice and overall we helped 89 of them receive ID disks.  It was an amazing event and I’m sure the rest of Richmond Assembly will agree with me when I say that we look forward to working with the Masons of Washington & Henry Lodge in the future.

Manassas joins Alex’s Army

Posted in Blog on May 12th, 2016 by Webmaster

On Thursday, May 5th, Manassas Assembly went to Dominion Valley Country Club to help make care packages for Alex’s Army, our Worthy Advisors’ charity project. Girls arrived at 5 o’clock and started making “sock-puppet kits” as well as to sort out crafting supplies. We were very happy to see that Alex himself was there to help and encourage everyone, bringing a smile to the faces of all those who attended. Alex’s Army is an amazing organization that helps families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer. I am so glad that our Assembly got to help with one of their projects.

Girls attending were: Sydney, Vanessa, Katie, Sami, Dalanie, Jazymn, Isabella, Zoey, M’Balu, and Gigi.

Bingo at MAHOVA and Charity Dinner

On February 20th, about thirty Rainbow Girls accompanied the elders at the Masonic Home for Bingo. It was a lot of fun mingling with the residents of the Masonic Home of Virginia.

Then we all gathered down the road at Babcock Lodge for a charity dinner and dance. The night was full of music and laughter. It was an excellent experience for my first time going to something like this. There was a DJ, bubble machine, and most of all, friends.
