South Norfolk Installation

On August 4th, Hampton Assembly went to South Norfolk for their installation. Before Kensley and I got to the lodge we jammed out to the Mama Mia soundtrack and got lost looking for Starbucks so we ended up at Dunkin’ Donuts. When we arrived, we were greeted by our Norfolk sisters and exchanged laughs and greetings. Kayla went in as Worthy Advisor. The installation was beautiful. Her family came from New Mexico to be a part of her installing team and it was touching. Her mascot is the horse, her service project is Our Military Kids, and her charity is the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. There was a large turnout of Rainbow and DeMolay. It was wonderful to see the support from Virginia’s Masonic youth. The reception was a taco bar and girls from many assemblies congregated together at one of the tables. The Rainbow bond of friendship and sisterhood was apparent at South Norfolk and Hampton was delighted to be a part of it.

Lady Shrine Dinner Service with Bethel 42

Posted in Blog on August 5th, 2018 by Christi Reed

On July 2nd, Kaitlyn, Phoenix, and I served dinner for the Lady Shrine with the help of some of our Jobie sisters. We served pasta with chicken Alfredo sauce. We also served salad. There was an ice cream bar at the end, too. It was very fun to serve dinner for the men and women who came.

On June 15, Keita was installed as Bethel 42’s new Honored Queen. Kaitlyn, Phoenix, Jordan, Mary, Libbie, Gia, and I went. Keita had an ice cream sundae bar at the end of the installation. It was fun to hang out with our Jobie sisters.

Grand Assembly Fun

Posted in Blog on August 1st, 2018 by Christi Reed

On June 29 through July 1, Virginia Rainbow had their 25th grand assembly year with Olivia as our Grand Worthy Advisor. Throughout this weekend, Olivia‘s “Sail into Rainbow” grand year was a huge success! She, as well as all her officers, did a fantastic job on their parts, we had many guest joining us, and we were able to close with a great year!

To give some information on what happened, we had Opening night on Friday, June 29 at 7 PM. During this session, we heard from dignitaries all over Virginia as well as other Masonic groups that traveled to come speak at our session. Once that was all clear, we had our opening of the Grand Assembly and introductions of our guests that have traveled to help support our grand year. The session went from labor to recess and we continued on June 30, 2018.
The next morning, we had our initiation of Caroline who will be joining Norfolk Assembly. Caroline and all the officers did a fantastic job on the initiation and we are so happy to add another beautiful girl to our rainbow family. We also had the Rose Lecture given by Sara, the Dad’s talk given by Dalanie, and the Lambskin Apron lecture given by Dad Costis presented to Caroline as well. They all did a fantastic job!

That afternoon, we had our final session for Olivia‘s grand year. Before our closing, Katie and Sami presented the baby talk and did a fantastic job with that. When the officers finished with the closing, we had the saddest part, the Book of Memories. Each officer signed this book.

Olivia did so well, her grand year was success and she made everyone proud. That evening, we had our grand banquet. The food that was prepared was amazing. We were able to mingle with everyone and play games as we sat during the dinner. We were also present to do with scholarships from Mom Nancy Martin for girls who were getting ready to attend college. We also have a silent auction and the raffle prizes given out to those who won them. We learned about competition winners by Mom Megan Murray. We also found out our Assembly of the year, Manassas Assembly. We congratulated them on their great achievement and we are so proud of them! Lastly, we have the announcement of the new Grand officers for this upcoming year by Mom Linda Jenkins. Many girls and adults got amazing new positions and everyone deserves them greatly! We finished off this eventful night with a dance.

On Sunday, July 1, we had our installation of the new grand officers with Kensley going in as the new Grand Worthy Advisor. Her theme for this year is “Uniquely beautiful, Uniquely you”. Her charities are the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation and Virginia Grand Assembly. It was a beautiful installation and we cannot wait to see what her term will hold.
