Alzheimer’s Walk – 10/19/2019

On Saturday, October 19, 2019I met up with other VA Rainbow members to do the Alzheimer’s Walk.  We did the short one-mile walk.  It was easy and we were done in less than half an hour.  I like the fact that lots of people brought their dogs on the walk.  Once we were done Kate and I went to McDonald’s to get breakfast.

Manassas Assembly End of Summer Cook Out

Manassas Assembly End of Summer Cook Out

To say goodbye to summer,  Manassas Assembly held a fundraiser dinner on September 14th.  We hosted a cookout and served hot dogs and homemade, grilled to order Hamburgers.  Those who wanted to step it up could order a gourmet burger with the option of a Mushroom and Swiss, Hawaiian, Texas Burger or Mexican Burger.   We have had lots of complements on the food ~ who knew our girls were such good chefs!  (Thanks to the Dad’s who really did the grillin’ 😊).  The girls were excellent servers!

We served over 60 people ~ a great big thanks to all of those supported us ~~ especially those from Ashburn Assembly!

Our girls were able to earn a nice little chunk of money for the Rainbow banks!

Kena Shriners Crab Fest – 9-29-2019

On September 29th, I helped to serve and clean up at the Kena Shriners Crab Fest.  I was there with Gigi, Dalanie, Samantha, Sinclair, Mom Priscilla, Dad Tom, Dad Clancy, and Mom Louisa.  We worked longer than originally thought but everything turned out well.  Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal – all you can eat crabs!  They were watching the football game while they ate. There was a pretty good turnout.

Richmond Fredericksburg GV – 9-28-2019

September 28th was the Richmond & Fredericksburg GV.  Although we were a little late due to traffic on I-95 and some heavy thunderstorms on the way we had a good time once we got there.  It was so nice to see most of the Grand Officers and Grand Representatives in their matching dresses.  The skit was nice to watch, and the event was special since we had so many people visiting from South Carolina.  I even bought the new pin being sold by the Supreme Faith from South Carolina.  I like the fact that she has a lighthouse on the pin since it reminds me of the lighthouses from the 2014 Supreme Assembly in Baltimore.
