On July 28th, Jordan, Jamyah, Phoenix, Mary, Kaitlyn, Sarah and I went to Hampton Assembly’s installation of officers. Sara went in as Worthy Advisor for the ensuing term. Her mascot is Winnie the Pooh and her theme is A Picnic in the Hampton Acre Woods. Sarah gave the Invocation, Kaitlyn was Installing Marshal, and Phoenix was Installing Musician. The installing team wore vests to symbolize different Winnie the Pooh characters. After the installation there was a picnic themed reception with a lot of good food and ice cream!

Cleaning the Lodge

Posted in Blog on August 8th, 2019 by Christi Reed

On July 26, we had a lodge cleaning. Jamyah, Kaiti, Katliyn, and Sarah were there. We started by cleaning and then we started to decorate for our upcoming installation. When we finished, some of us practiced our parts for the installation.

Springfield Installation

The weekend of 7/28/2019, was a busy one for me and VA Rainbow, but after all of my swim team events were over I was able to go to the Springfield Installation.  Marisa B. was installed as Worthy Advisor for Springfield Assembly #14.  Marisa’s theme is, “My Country and Survival”; her mascot is an elephant; and her Charity is the Wounded Warrior Project.  The ceremony was nice and the reception afterwards had some really good food!

It was nice to see the support for them.  While I was the only member from Manassas, Ashburn also came with one member and one pledge, and Quantico – Freedom Assembly brought seven members.  It all made for a pretty good turn out considering it was the same day as the Hampton Installation.  Good luck to all the newly installed officers this term!

Manassas Installation

Posted in Blog on July 31st, 2019 by Christi Reed
On July 21, Manassas Assembly had their installation of officers with Allison S. going in as the new Worthy Advisor of their assembly for the ensuing term. Sarah R. and I were so happy to come and see this wonderful installation. Allison’s motto is “Be a flamingo in a world full of pigeons”. To match her motto, everyone was handed out pink flamingo necklaces to wear during the ceremony. The charity she choose for her term was ACTS which is a Prince William County Charity. They help the community by having a suicide and crisis hotline, food pantry, and a thrift store for people who need certain necessities. To finish of the day, we all went down to have an amazing spaghetti dinner! Overall, it was such a beautiful installation with so much color and excitement throughout the whole ceremony! I am so excited to see Allison lead her assembly and see all the accomplishments that she will have in these next six months!
