Smithfield’s Initiation

Posted in Blog on September 9th, 2019 by Christi Reed

On July 30, we went to Smithfield’s Initiation. Mary, Kaitlyn and I went to it. Before the Initiation, we walked down Main Street and took pictures with all of the pigs. Main Street is beautiful and has many exciting places to go including an ice cream parlor.  During the Initiation, we went to help them fill in their stations so they could initiate a new member to their assembly. We will always help our Rainbow sisters and look forward to our new sister’s Rainbow journey.

Quantico-Freedom’s Initiations

Quantico-Freedom’s initiations

Quantico-Freedom Assembly #6 officially reopened on June 15th, 2019. This was the day we were all looking forward to. Before the assembly opened, we started out with 7 members of Manassas Assembly, and one member of Fairfax assembly.  Starting our assembly, we wanted to create a mission and vision statement so that we would keep our focus. The whole assembly’s ideals are within those lines, and to me, they are really special, since I phrased it together,  and it really increased my excitement and faith in the assembly to grow.

Our first initiation into our assembly was on the day we reopened. All the grand officers came to the lodge, and we initiated two people: Britney and Kadija. We were supposed to initiate 4, but two of our initiates couldn’t come at the last minute. Nevertheless, the initiation was amazing, and memorable. At the end, I did the rose lecture.

To get the final number of girls we needed, we had to initiate two girls at Grand Assembly, which we did. The initiation at Grand Assembly was amazing, and to think we were able to have 5 girls all throughout the state be initiated at this event was amazing! Go VA Rainbow!

Now Quantico-Freedom Assembly is officially able to hold formal meetings, and I look forward to the future of this assembly, may it last till the end of time!

Quantico-Freedom Reopening

Quantico-Freedom Reopening

Kayla D., Sarah R., Kaitlyn R. And Phoenix A. all attended Quantico-Freedom’s reopening from Norfolk Assembly. We had a fun time on the ride up to Quantico, stopping at the new love sign at the rest stop and even getting something to eat at Wendy’s. When we got there, we learned the lodge was on a military base which made it more adventurous and fun. We got to see a lot of cool local shops with all sorts of beautiful signs and decor. We did an Initiation before the Installation of Officers. The Grand Officers performed the Initiation for 2 new girls. For the Installation, which took place not long after the Initiation, Zoey W. was installed as Worthy Advisor and a lot of new members were given their new positions. On the ride back home, we had just as much fun on the way up by telling funny jokes and stopping by Starbucks on the way. We all had so much fun!!

Ashburn Initiation

Posted in Blog on December 20th, 2018 by Christi Reed

On Sunday December 2nd, Mom Kim, Kensley, Lauren, Sara and Reagan went to Ashburn to help with their Initiation. On the way up everyone was listening to Christmas music and got in the holiday spirit. Once we got to the lodge that we had never been before, Ella showed us to the bathroom so we could change. We had to walk down very twisty stairs to reach the bottom of the lodge. They were very scary but fun at the same time. We were warned that we had to be within two steps of the person in front to successfully stay upright. Before the initiation the pledges had their meeting and it was adorable. Then initiation began. Everyone did an amazing job and we’re so happy to have a new sister, Riley. They had very good food down stairs and we got presents for helping out which we are so thankful for. On our way home we all clustered together to sleep but it didn’t last long before mom Kim turned Christmas music back up. Lauren was half asleep and really wanted goldfish so we made her dance to the music to earn them. I had so much fun with my Rainbow sisters and advisors and can’t wait to watch Riley grow with everyone else.
