Hampton’s End of Summer Sleepover

hampton-dads-dress-up hampton-end-of-summer-funAfter Hampton Assembly’s End of Summer party, we held a sleepover. It started off with Pictionary. It was hilarious watching the girls try to draw out a movie or action and it was even funnier hearing everyone’s guesses. Then we played Minute-To-Win-It games. One of the games we always tend to play at sleepovers is putting a popsicle stick in your mouth and trying to balance as many marshmallows as you can on it. This ended in a marshmallow fight when we all got a little to excited over who we thought won. Earlier in the sleepover, I had to leave and had to miss the dressing up of two of our dads, but the pictures I saw made me laugh out loud. The girls also helped our GWA, Rachal, with decorations for upcoming events. After all the fun and games, we went upstairs and hung out for a little while then fell asleep. It was a great time. It’s always wonderful spending time with my sisters!

Hampton’s End of Summer Party

Posted in Blog on September 20th, 2016 by Webmaster

On Saturday August 27th, Hampton Assembly held an End of Summer Party. We ate food that was prepared by our wonderful adults. After we ate, we played a few games of corn hole. Lauren played on one team against Sheen and I, because Brittany didn’t make it in time before the game ended. We then had a water balloon fight. The girls were very afraid of popping the ball, so you would have guessed we were throwing an egg. We played two rounds and then moved on to duct tape to the wall. We had three teams. Two teams of girls and one team of adults. After time passed and all duct tape was used, we removed the chairs to see who won. As soon as the chairs were removed, everyone fell immediately. So, let’s just say that it was a three way tie. Next we had a search for gummy bears in whipped cream. The moms set a timer and we dug through the whipped cream. We all found five and kept searching. We were never told that we only had 5 to find, so whipped cream got every where. After all the party games were played, we moved upstairs to clean up and wait for the sleepover to start. We had a mini dance party to Disney songs as we waited. It was a wonderful party, and I can’t wait for another bonding, fun, and crazy party with these amazing girls.

Madalyn's ROC Solid BuildMadalyn's ROC Solid Build

On Friday August 26th, Hampton Assembly helped build a play set for a little girl battling autism and cancer. The build started at 8 am and we finished around 1:30pm. Mom Beth, Mom Kim, Lauren, and I built the roof. Rachal helped another group make the ladder and rock wall. It was so cool to see the pieces we made get put together to make something amazing.

When Madalyn came out, we all waved our hands and her face lit up. She was so happy! She went straight for the swing. As she was swinging, Roc Solid presented a picture to her parents that talked about what cancer can not take away. It was so amazing to see the impact that we made on that family.

After we finished building, we were asked to start sorting the pieces for the next build. So, not only did we help one kid, we started the process of helping another one.

To see the little Madalyn so happy and her parents so thankful helped us to realize what these two organizations are about; helping and bringing joy to others and helping as many individuals as we can. It was an absolutely amazing day, and I can’t wait to help with another build!

Hampton attends Fredericksburg’s Installation

Posted in Blog on August 30th, 2016 by Webmaster
On August 13th, Lauren and I headed to Fredericksburg for their Installation of Officers. On the way there, we had a dance party and rocked out with spoons, as our 2-hour car ride turned into a 4-hour one. At Fredericksburg’s Installation, Hanna acted in the place as Worthy Advisor to carry on with the Installation. They chose the theme Rainbow Go! Hampton had four girls attend this beautiful Installation. After, Fredericksburg held a reception downstairs. Then, Lauren and I, along with our moms, went to Potomac Mills for some dress shopping!
