On Saturday June 2nd, Sara, Kensley, Rachal, and Libby attended the Clean the Bay Day. The advisor present was our Mother Advisor, Mom Julie. We joined girls from all over the state of Virginia to help pick up trash along the Chesapeake Bay. Sometimes it got a little hard because we were climbing on rocks to get all the trash picked up, but we had a lot of fun working together to clean up the land. Hampton is always so happy to serve and enjoy the company of the other assemblies, especially our northern friends we don’t get to see as often.

On Saturday, June 2nd, Lauren Kensley, Sara, Alex, Reagan, Bella and Eva went to the car show at The Newport News Scottish Rite. We all arrived at 6:30 a.m to help make breakfast. Sara, Alex,and I were cracking eggs and out of no where the lights just shut off because a transformer blew outside. We had to only use the gas oven because the other was electric. We managed to cook the rest of the meal with only part of the power that came through the generator and when we got a break, we ventured outside for a little bit to see the beautiful cars. For lunch we had pansit and hot dogs. Meanwhile we were still in the dark cooking and serving food. We began cleaning up and as we were leaving, the electricians came to fix it (of course when we were finished). Even though the lights were off we learned how to work with each other like a team!

On Friday May 11th, Sara, Kensley, Reagan, Aubrianna, Caitlyn, and Lauren attended the Grand Master’s Dinner in Williamsburg. The Advisors present were Mom Kim and our Mother Advisor, Mom Julie. We joined Tidewater Chapter and Bethel 39 in helping to serve and then clean up after the dinner. They had delicious cheesecake for dessert and we all got pins from the Grand Master’s wife. They are blue ovals with gold detailing and we are so happy to have a piece of their time in office. Hampton is always so happy to serve and enjoy the company of the other youth groups.

On Saturday April 14, Sara,Kensley, Lauren, Alex and Reagan participated in the yearly competitions. On the way up to Richmond we went to Chick-fil-A and got lunch. After we went to the Dollar Tree to get snacks for our trip and I slipped my Chick-fil-A cup on the ground and made a mess! Once we made it to competitions I got very nervous because 11-13 year olds went first and that meant that Alex and I were first. After we competed, it was Sara’s turn for the Rose Lecture; following that it was Lauren and Kensley’s turn! While we waited for Rodeo to start, we colored pictures! When it was time for Rodeo, Sara, Lauren, Alex and myself competed. Richmond’s Assembly Room was a little different so it was somewhat a challenge! We all went to dinner at Hibachi Grill and we took pictures! Today was a great day and I look forward to next year!
