Hampton Assembly made a surprise visit to Smithfield Assembly! Kensley, Sara, and I all packed into Mrs Kim’s car and headed down the road with tubs of ice cream. Since Smithfield won the sandcastle building contest at beach day, they were entitled to an ice cream social. When we got there we began setting up the table with toppings like nuts, whipped cream, sprinkles, m&ms, and teddy grahams. We also had delicious caramel and chocolate topping and cherries. When the girls arrived they looked shocked to see us. Did I forget to mention this was a bit of a surprise? They were even more surprised when they saw we had ice cream! We joined them in their meeting and all ate our treats together. Even with all of the girls and adults eating, we still couldn’t finish all the ice cream. It was a delicious and fun time!

The murder mystery event was on Friday, August 10th. The girls who attended were Gigi, Akshita, Eliza, Isabella, Kate, Joella, Maribel, Dalanie, Vanessa, Selena, Zoey, Aaliyah, M’Batu, Balu and myself. My Nana, sister, and I drove over the hills, through the woods, to Kate’s house. We got there around 6:30 before it started getting dark out. I saw Vanessa and told her I liked her dress, my Nana liked it because it matched her glasses.  The girls outside walked inside and closed the door. I went to open it and was told this is V.I.P only.   That meant I had to knock on the door. When I knocked they opened and invited me in. My Nana, sister, and I were asked who we are. My Nana was a watcher, my sister was Coach Cartier, and I was Celebrity Judge Jasmine. We ate a lot of snacks and then we began the “murder mystery”.  We were encouraged to do whatever it takes, such as blackmail and lying!   We talked to people on our lists and got information. After that we all came together and BAM… Tina Texas (Ella) dropped dead!  We got envelopes and inside was money and clues.   Once again we went around asking people questions and getting information about the murder.   People were blackmailed, robbed and lied to. At the end we put all our information together and wrote down who we thought was the killer. My sister wrote down Amy Arizona and was the only one right!  Amy Arizona (Dalanie) killed Tina Texas with Tic Tics made in Arizona. We all were surprised and left in awe. Most of the girls were going to the beach the next day so they had to leave as soon as it ended but we took pictures and had a lot of fun and it was pretty cool. My Nana, sister, and I went back over the hills and though the woods back home and when I walked in the house I slept like a baby.

Buckroe Beach Adventure

My Buckroe Beach adventure started out the night before the event right after solving a murder mystery party.  We packed up the minivan and “kidnapped” Selena S. and five of us headed off to Newport News for the night.  We got a hotel room so we could sleep in and not have to wake up before dawn to get to the event on time.  That morning we had breakfast at the hotel and headed to the beach.  We had some trouble finding it so we were a little late, but once we got there it was sunny and fun.  We went into the water, played games and had a sandcastle building contest.  My ride had to leave early because traffic was bad and we had to be back for band rehearsal.  There were many girls from Manassas there including:  Kate, Dalanie, Zoey, M’Balu, Katie, Sami, Joella, Batu, Gigi and Selena and myself.

Murder Mystery Party

On August 10, 2018, Manassas Assembly had a fun event:  a murder mystery party themed:  Killing for the Crown.  We got all dressed up as beauty pageant contestants, beauty coaches or judges and got ready for a fun night of “murder” and “deception”.  It was so much fun and Ella played the character, aka Miss Tina Texas, that was “murdered” and Dalanie, aka Miss Amy Arizona, was the “killer”.  Bribes/”Donations” were taken and evidence was found.  By the end of the night everyone got to try to figure out who did it and why.  Prizes were given for the most money collected by the end of the night, guessing the correct killer, best actor and best dressed.  It was really fun and I can’t wait till the next party!
