MAHOVA BINGO!

Posted in Blog on October 4th, 2015 by Webmaster

This was my first time attending an event at the Masonic Home of Virginia, I’m so proud to be a part an organization that takes care of and provides for the people that once led and provided for us. On September 19th, girls from all over Virginia traveled to Richmond to assist and care for our elderly members at the Masonic Home. We had two girls from Manassas take the two and a half hour trip to Richmond in order to serve with our Rainbow community. The girls helped the members by distributing Bingo cards, candy for the winners, and by calling out the Bingo numbers. The most important thing we did was spend time and listen to our elderly members while they shared stories about their lives. I cannot wait to go back to MAHOVA to learn more about our Masonic heritage and the people who helped form the family we are today.

My First Grand Assembly

Posted in Blog on August 24th, 2015 by Webmaster

P1050981This summer’s Virginia Grand Assembly was the first Grand Assembly I have ever been to. It was definitely a new experience to watch the Grand Officers perform the ritual work properly and gives me something to work towards. The now past Grand Worthy advisor, Brigitte Wendel, was my first Grand Worthy Advisor and did a great job interacting with all the girls at Grand Assembly. It was sad to see her leave her station in the East and even more so Majority out of Rainbow. I liked Brigitte’s theme and how it fit with everything we did during Grand Assembly. The Grand Officers opening dance, to “One World”, was a great way to incorporate the international theme into the sessions. I really enjoyed all the activities Brigitte had planned at Grand Assembly and I was happy to participate and meet Girls from all over the State. The two parts of Grand Assembly I liked the most were, the Grand Banquet because, during the banquet the awards we had worked for all year were announced. My second favorite part was the Majority Service because it was very touching and beautiful. Overall, Grand Assembly was a great experience and I hope I get to go next year.

South Norfolk “Bring A Friend” Night

Posted in Blog on August 17th, 2015 by Webmaster

On July 7th, Hampton Assembly #2 held “Bring a Friend” Night for our soon to be opened South Norfolk Assembly. The Masons invited the DeMolay, Job’s Daughters, and Rainbow Girls to have dinner and present a short program explaining what each of these organizations is about. Hampton Assembly did the Bow program sharing what each ray of light in the Rainbow means. We watched the DeMolay do the shield talk and Ceremony of Lights. The Job’s Daughters did a program about what their flag means.

Manassas Girls are Friendly, Positive, and Helpful!

Posted in Blog on August 8th, 2015 by Webmaster
On Sunday, July 26 Manassas Assembly had their Installation of Officers. Alanna went in as Worthy Advisor for the second time. Most girls were tired from a long night before at the DeMolay dance. We have gained a lot of new members lately. Our Assembly has 15 stations filled and we know we have 2 more pledges joining this term also. Many girls earned merit bars. Zoey and Gigi won Friendliest. Dalanie and Gigi were selected as Most Helpful. Gigi was chosen as Positive Attitude and I was voted to Best Ritual. Manassas Assembly is ready for another amazing term!
