Hello Rainbow!
I hope everyone is getting really excited about the retreat! The retreat is August 14th, in Jamestown. It cost 10 dollars to attend, and we will need a head count by the 10th. Please invite all of your friends! You will need to bring, bedding, pillow, bathing suit, towel, toiletries, bug spray, sunscreen, Rainbow appropriate clothing, and anything else you might need. We have a busy retreat planned, packed with lots and lots of fun. Lunch on Saturday will be a cookout, dinner will be a noodle bar, and we will have general breakfast foods on Sunday. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Also, fingertip length shorts are ok to wear.

Smithfield Assembly Installation

Members of Smithfield Assembly

Virginia Rainbow in Smithfield
On Saturday, July 10th, 2010 Smithfield Assembly No. 5 held their Installation of Officers. I was crowned Worthy Advisor.  Thirteen other active members of the assembly were installed into their new offices.
My theme is “Just live your life” and my motto is “Inspiration does not come from the quote itself, but rather from the person behind it.” I chose these because I really wanted to base my term on being who you are and not being afraid to say here I am. I love the colors green and blue and my favorite flowers are yellow roses. I used cartoon dinosaurs for my mascot since dinosaurs are so big you can’t help to notice them. Dinosaurs choose their own path through life. Dinosaur tracks and smiley faces are my symbols because when people smile they truly shine. Smithfield Assembly and I will doing a breakfast fundraiser at Applebee’s to make a donation to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We also will have a fun fundraiser planned so the girls can use the proceeds for a fun event of their choice. Last but not least we will be doing a Service Project to help out the Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity helps build homes for people that for some reason have lost their’s. A home is a place for everyone to be comfortable in their skin and it’s a terrible loss not to have one.
This is my second term as Worthy Advisor, which is a huge honor.  Not many girls get to be as lucky as I am to wear the crown twice. Even though this is the second time it will be a completely new experience since the number of officers for our assembly has tripled in size since the beginning of the new year. Our Assembly is lucky to have so many hard working active members. They are all enthusiastic about getting their friends to join in on the rainbow fun.
