Calling All Virginia Majority Members

Posted in Blog on April 1st, 2013 by admin
Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a nice snow day!  I am excited to announce that a VaMMA event is planned!  We will be having a majority members luncheon on Saturday, May 18 at Maggiano’s in Richmond from 11:30-2:30pm. The cost will be $30.00 per person.  The price includes a three-course lunch, gratuity/service fee, and a donation the Rainbow Scholorship Fund.  I will need the money from everyone attending by May 10.  The checks will be cashed following the event.  Please see VAMMA’s Facebook page for info on where to send the check.
This is also a great chance for you to send your $5.00 donation for a full page ad from VaMMA to the current Rainbow Girls.  This is a great way to show our support!  Your $5.00 donation gets your name placed on the ad at Grand Assembly.  Please mail your donations to me.
Also, the VaMMA page is up on Facebook!  If you would like to be part of the group, please friend me and I will add you.  Lastly, if there is a majority member you know that is not on this contact list- feel free to pass on my information to them or have them friend me on Facebook 🙂
I am planning an over-night retreat in August, most likely at Virginia Beach.  More information to come!

Hampton Installation

On January 27th, Hampton had their Installation on Sunday at 2 pm. Dharma S was installed as Worthy Advisor and her theme was Strawberry Shortcake. There were a lot of lollipops and candy at the Reception and the food was great. Another awesome Installation!
DeMolay Sweetheart Dance
On February 16th, there was a Sweetheart Dance up in Northern Virginia for DeMolay. I was there
with Brianna and Athena from Richmond #10 and the new Rainbow Girls from Ashburn were there
as well! Even though the drive was long, I had a lot of fun dancing to a variety of awesome songs!
Manassas Installation
On February 2nd, Manassas had their Installation and Alanna was Installed as Worthy Advisor. Her theme was Winter Wonderland. The Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Virginia was there and he made remarks about how great the Masonic youth organizations are to the young ladies and men. There was a great reception after the Installation!
GWA Charity Ball

On February 23rd, there was the Grand Worthy Advisor’s Charity Ball. The theme was ‘Get Your Glow On!’
Everyone was wearing glow sticks and neon clothes so they can show up in the blacklight! After a
delicious Italian dinner, all of the girls were dancing to the great music that the DJ played and everyone
danced to the ‘Cupid Shuffle’ and ‘YMCA’. There were raffles to win prizes and an awesome Peace Snuggie!
Over one thousand dollars was raised for Lauren’s charity, ROC Solid. It was a great Saturday night to spend
with all of my Rainbow sisters!

Manassas Assembly Serves Dinner for Lodge

Posted in Blog on March 23rd, 2013 by Webmaster

On March 1st, 2013, the Rainbow Manassas Assembly LT conducted a fundraiser at the Manasseh Lodge #182. We made and served dinner for the Mason’s who were having their stated communication dinner. We arrived early at the lodge to prepare the food for the festivities. We prepared/served with the assistance of our wonderful mothers, chicken Parmesan, salad and many deserts. We even had the assistance of our pledges to make the evening more successful. I am happy to report; we earned $277.00 after expenses for our assembly. The Mason’s were very gracious and invited us into their lodge to thank us prior to the opening of their meeting. After the Mason’s thanked us for our efforts, we all joined in and cleaned up the mess from the dinner. Not only did we raise money for our assembly, but we enjoyed each other’s company and created memories.

Richmond’s Self Esteem and Confidence Building Party

Posted in Blog on March 23rd, 2013 by Webmaster

On February 16th, Erin Wilder, Worthy Advisor of Richmond #10, hosted a self esteem and confidence building party at her house. There were a lot of girls there and all of us wrote on a piece of paper of what we like and dislike about ourselves. Everyone complimented one another on their dislikes because that is what friendship is all about. We were shown videos of women being ‘perfected’ by makeup and computers and how that image of beauty is distorted. We all love one another regardless of imperfections.

After a delicious taco lunch provided by Mom Wilder, we continued to talk about increasing our self esteem.
As part of an activity, we wrote five things of what we absolutely love about ourselves,  decorate it, and put
in a picture frame as a permanent reminder that we are all beautiful, inside and out. I love Erin Wilder. She is
a wonderful Rainbow Girl and a great Worthy Advisor.
