Ashburn Assembly Installation of Officers – 8/14/21

Posted in Blog on August 28th, 2021 by Christi Reed

On August 14th, 2021, Ashburn Assembly #11 held their Installation of Officers at 2 pm. Brenna was installed as Worthy Advisor, and the assembly’s theme for the term is Star Wars. JoElla and I are huge fans of Star Wars, so we were both excited to attend. Prior to the Installation starting, pictures were taken. Brenna’s mascot was a Rey doll, which she named “Rey Rey”. She was presented with her sister Erin’s hand-made gavel to preside with. Her parents also presented her with a gavel so big that Mom Ange described it as a “Thor gavel” which was engraved with her name, a Rainbow emblem, and a resistance symbol to represent her term. Following the Installation there was unique space themed food which included blue spaghetti, pink and purple rolls, and a green boba drink that was quite popular! I’m so happy that I was able to visit some of my friends from Ashburn that I haven’t seen in a while, and I am looking forward to going back soon.

Battlefield Clean Up

Posted in Blog on August 27th, 2021 by Christi Reed

On August 7th, my fellow assembly girls and myself went to the Manassas Battlefield trail to pick up trash. We walked for about an hour and a half cleaning the path while admiring the forest scenery. I admired some butterflies and grasshoppers that would pop out occasionally. After our walk, we stopped for some refreshments and snacks and even got to take pictures with people dressed like civil war soldiers before we got in our cars. They had replicas of old muskets and canteens. We had a blast, and we are excited for other events Eliza has planned for her term.

Springfield Initiation

Posted in Blog on August 26th, 2021 by Christi Reed

Being a protem for another assembly is a great honor and it is very entertaining. I get to see how different Assemblies act and how they perform ritual. I also get to see familiar and new faces, like when I was a protem for the Springfield initiation. I was able to meet the new ladies who I would help make Rainbow Girls and spend time with the Springfield girls. I would recommend serving as protem for other girls so they can also have a fun, social experience and see what the other Assemblies in our order are like.

Serving Dinner

Posted in Blog on August 25th, 2021 by Christi Reed

On Thursday, July 29th, a few girls from Manassas went to serve dinner at the Warrenton Lodge. They were having a family dinner right before their meeting.  The Rainbow Girls were asked to serve, and we were also given a table to decorate and have as a sort of “rainbow booth” where people could come learn more about Rainbow! Once the dinner started, the Rainbow Girls served food and the moms who were there ran our table. We worked from 5:30 to 8:00, serving food, cleaning, and meeting children who attended the dinner. Eliza, as our Worthy Advisor, was given the opportunity to speak about what Rainbow is, and what we do for our community. Mom Priscilla was then able to speak a bit on what Rainbow can do for a girl, from a mother’s perspective. We did meet a young girl who we hope will soon be a pledge member. She and her brother had a blast with the glow-sticks from our table!  It was a great night full of food and laughter and we were so happy to build up our bonds with the Warrenton  Lodge!
