Supreme Banquet

Posted in Blog on September 18th, 2018 by Christi Reed

On Sunday, July 29, 2018, Hampton Assembly started off Supreme Assembly by attending the “Be a pineapple” Supreme Banquet. We were lucky to be near the front and had a great view of the Supreme Officers, Acting Supreme Officers, and Supreme Pages as they were introduced. The dinner was delicious! We had chicken and, of course, green beans. There were also different dessert dishes and everyone said they tasted amazing. The banquet was showered in music by the Norfolk Public Schools and many of the guests could recognize the tune and hum along. There was also a huge poster going around where you could stick your face through the hole in the center and pose for a photo as a pineapple. Guests mingled and after it ended, Virginia DeMolay helped DJ a very fun dance. I’m so happy we had this event to end the night. I was able to meet many new friends and party with my Rainbow sisters from around the world. During this time, out of state girls also got a taste of Virginia by seeing some of our various dances like the biker shuffle. Many girls tried to learn and participate but everyone ended up having a great time!

Fairfax Installation

Fairfax Installation July 19, 2018

Fairfax Assembly #3 held its installation of officers on July 19, 2018 at 7:30 pm at Henry Lodge.  It was really nice because one year earlier only one officer was installed and this time there were five.  The ceremony was quick and they handed out several awards.  Kensley, the new GWA, was there and they presented her with gifts.  Mom J spoke about Supreme Assembly coming soon.  Manassas Assembly #13 had a lot of its members there including:  Katie, Dalanie, me, Vanessa, Sami, Akshita, Joella, Allison, Eliza, and Gigi.  Fairfax Assembly is growing fast and I can’t wait to see how many members there are next year!

Grand Assembly 2018

Virginia Grand Assembly

By Kassie

Our Grand Assembly was good and we had lots of fun there.  Some of us were in the Cavalcade of Flags.  I carried the New Hampshire flag, because I was the Grand Representative to New Hampshire.  Ashley and Anna carried the flags of Missouri and Vermont, because those were their Grand Representative states.  The Grand Worthy and Grand Worthy Associate Advisors from Maryland, Pennsylvania and South Carolina were there.  Gia, who is Libbie’s friend from California, was also there.  Libbie’s theme was the sailboat and shark.  During the morning session, they played How Far I’ll Go, sung by Moana.  During the afternoon session the song was That’s My Girl, by Fifth Harmony.  I was excited to see some majority girls from my assembly, especially Rachel, the past Grand Worthy Advisor.  Ilana and Andi received their majority cards.  At the banquet we received our awards and found out who won the raffle prizes.  When it was time to announce the Grand Representative and Grand Officer positions we found out we had three Grand Representatives, two Grand Officers, one Flag Bearer, and one Grand Page from our assembly.  After the banquet we had a dance and it was fun.  In the morning, the new Grand Officers were installed.  Kensley, the new GWA, had her home Assembly do the ribbon ceremony, and introduced her family and friends.

Springfield Installation

Posted in Blog on September 17th, 2018 by Christi Reed

After Manassas’s Installation, Hampton zoomed over to Springfield for their Installation of Officers. To get there, Mrs. Kim took the windiest road in existence and it was terrifying. There were so many twists and turns and we even saw horses! Soon after we got there, the installation began. Jeanne went in as WA and her mascot was the lion. Hailey was the Installing Officer and did absolutely fabulous. They also installed an Assembly Dad. Dad Harold was excited to assume the position but shocked to hear his duties included heavy lifting and helping the girls breakdown the assembly room. Afterwards Springfield had a reception with Philippine food that was very tasty and all the girls came together for fellowship. The ride home was long but we shaved off 8 minutes by leaving the highway and driving through cornfields!
