Supreme Assembly

By Kassie

Supreme Assembly was good.  Chloe, Ashley and I all brought swaps and had fun meeting our Rainbow Sisters from all over the United States.  Chloe and I were lucky enough to have our room beside the rooms of the Massachusetts group.  We also had people from New Jersey at our hotel, and we got to talk to them at breakfast.  The Supreme song was Try Everything, from Zootopia.  On Tuesday we had a Taco Tuesday lunch theme, with tacos, quesadillas, and chocolate covered churros.  Chloe and I were lucky enough to get seats with Libbie and Rachel, and the PGWA of Colorado.  Also on Tuesday we had three girls from different jurisdictions initiated.  We also got to meet Vicky, a former Smithfield girl, who moved to Florida nine years ago.  The Cavalcade of Flags on Tuesday was awesome.  On Wednesday we saw the new Supreme Worthy Advisor installed and Mom J was installed as Supreme Love.  We also celebrated Zoey’s and Mom Gansler’s birthdays.

Manassas Installation July 22, 2018

Manassas Assembly #13 held its installation of officers on July 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Manasseh Lodge.  Kate B. was installed as Worthy Advisor and her theme this term is Broadway and the Arts.  She had a heart felt speech explaining her charity:  Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Her colors are aquamarine, silver and white.  Her mascot Roger is a polar bear.  Mom J, Kensley and so many grand officers and grand representatives were there.  There was lots of food and many people were rushed so they could get to the Springfield Installation that was to start at 5pm.  The event was good and I look forward to another great term at Manassas!

South Norfolk Installation

South Norfolk Installation

On August 4th, Hampton Assembly went to South Norfolk for their installation. Before Kensley and I got to the lodge we jammed out to the Mama Mia soundtrack and got lost looking for Starbucks so we ended up at Dunkin’ Donuts. When we arrived, we were greeted by our Norfolk sisters and exchanged laughs and greetings. Kayla went in as Worthy Advisor. The installation was beautiful. Her family came from New Mexico to be a part of her installing team and it was touching. Her mascot is the horse, her service project is Our Military Kids, and her charity is the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. There was a large turnout of Rainbow and DeMolay. It was wonderful to see the support from Virginia’s Masonic youth. The reception was a taco bar and girls from many assemblies congregated together at one of the tables. The Rainbow bond of friendship and sisterhood was apparent at South Norfolk and Hampton was delighted to be a part of it.

Supreme Assembly

Posted in Blog on September 18th, 2018 by Christi Reed

On Monday, July 30th, Supreme Assembly began in the Hampton Coliseum. Before the start of session, Hampton and Manassas girls walked around welcoming Rainbow girls to Hampton and exchanging swap gifts. The Supreme Officers preformed their walk-in for the first time and everyone in the audience clapped along, sparking a trend for the rest of the time we spent there. The opening, although similar, was not the traditional opening our Rainbow meetings have. It focused more on the higher level of Rainbow and was very interesting to hear. The Supreme Officers talked with such grace and beauty. It was an amazing experience to watch. Seeing girls do such an awesome job reciting ritual was inspiring and it made me (along with everyone else I’m sure) wish they were Supreme Officers too! The Supreme choir did a lovely job singing and filled the room with harmony. There were an overwhelming amount of PGWAs as well as GWAs who introduced themselves this day and it was an honor to have so many present. Flag bearers gave tributes and presented our sponsoring bodies’ flags and jurisdiction flags with confidence. There were introductions and speeches from many people and the session was called to rest. Afterward, Virginia Rainbow and honored dignitaries gathered in the convention center to enjoy a reception of appetizers and Good Company.
