Sushi for Founder’s Day!!

Posted in Blog on July 22nd, 2024 by Christi Reed

On July 8th Norfolk Assembly celebrated Founder’s Day by going out to sushi. It was delicious and we decorated paper crowns to wear together. After eating sushi we ended the night by heading over to Rita’s and getting Italian Ice and Custard. What an amazing way to celebrate the birthday of our founder!

Saturday at Grand Assembly

Posted in Blog on July 21st, 2024 by Christi Reed

On Saturday, we woke up and had breakfast downstairs with the rest of the state. We soon headed into the first meeting of the day and got to see Macie, a new member of our assembly, be initiated. It was beautiful and all of the Grand Officers did so well with their parts. At lunch we had some delicious salads before the afternoon sessions. There was a beautiful majority ceremony where many of our Rainbow sisters received their majority. We heard the closing remarks of Grand Worthy Advisor, Alyssa, and got to see the Bible ceremony. After the sessions some of the girls went to the craft activity and painted wooden cut outs. Then we all got dressed for the formal banquet.

The banquet was very nice, with little favors from our GWA. Dinner was very delicious and many announcements were made. We found out who won the raffle baskets, ritual awards were announced and so was Assembly of the Year. Norfolk took home three ritual awards. Grand appointments were announced and 3 members of our assembly are Grand Flag Bearers, 4 are Grand Representatives, 2 are Grand Officers, and 1 is on the JGEB. It was very exciting and Emily from Manassas was announced as our Grand Worthy Associate Advisor!! Congratulations to everybody!! The dance afterward was so much fun and there was plenty of line dancing.

Bethel 42 Installation

Posted in Blog on July 20th, 2024 by Christi Reed

On June 15th Bethel 42 had their installation of officers. Many of us were in attendance and participated in the installation as members of both organizations. Norfolk’s Drill Leader, Manuela, was installed as Honored Queen and Norfolk’s Nature, Alaina, was installed as Marshal. Becca served as the Installing Honored Queen. It was a wonderful time and we had a lot of fun at the reception and dance following the ceremony.

Bottle Rocket Fun

Posted in Blog on July 19th, 2024 by Christi Reed

On June 9th Norfolk Assembly had our Bottle Rocket Competition! It was a fun event and fundraiser for our term Charity. There were a few teams including those comprised of both Jobies and DeMolay, with our assembly girls serving as judges. Teams had 30 minutes to build rockets that would then be launched into the air and judged on creativity, durability, and how well it flew. We had a lot of fun and had two prospective members in attendance, as well as, two pledge prospects.
