Wrapping with Rainbow

Posted in Blog on December 17th, 2014 by Webmaster

On November 28th and 29th, Manassas Assembly #13 had a fundraiser where the Rainbow Girls wrapped Christmas presents, listened to Christmas music, and ate donuts. On the first day we only wrapped one present which was a little disappointing, however we were able to help Mom Tammy put up the Lodge Christmas decorations. We helped decorate the new Hello Kitty tree, which I think is adorable. Thanks to Mom Tammy for letting us help.

On the second day, our Girls wrapped many presents with the help of the Yorkshire School of Instruction. Thank you! We also had wonderful support from our Amaranth members who were there selling ornaments and encouraged purchasers to have them wrapped by Rainbow. Thank you Amaranth! In our down time, we experimented with different bows and styles to wrap the big presents. I’m not sure how successful the fundraiser was, but I had a great time spending time with my Rainbow Sisters. Overall it was a very good experience.

Fun at the Ball for One and All

Posted in Blog on December 15th, 2014 by Webmaster

The MCHQWA Ball is always a fun experience, showing girls that Rainbow is not always Ritual and floorwork. Girls come from all over the State to have fun with not only their Rainbow Sisters but also their DeMolay Brothers and Job’s Daughters Sisters. On September 27th all the organizations came together to have fun, sing, dance and eat snacks at the Kena Shrine Temple. It was a great day and a fun experience!

First Year Rainbow Adventures are Amazing!

Posted in Blog on December 13th, 2014 by Webmaster

I have been in Rainbow for one year.

On November 26, 2013, eight days after my 11th birthday, I joined Manassas Assembly and I have loved it so much! My year in Rainbow has been amazing. I have attended many Rainbow events and have met so many new people.

I love how Rainbow is all about having fun no matter what we are doing. Whether it is a sleepover, a fundraiser or a service project. We know when it is time to get to work….but we do it having fun! I attended Grand Assembly where I got to see a really good friend join. I was asked by Mom Linda Jenkins to do the Christian Flag Tribute and at the Grand Banquet I was appointed to be the Eastern Star Flag Bearer for the next Grand Year. I also participated in the competition for Rose Lecture! I have served as Confidential Observer and Chaplain in my local Assembly. I also learned the lecture of Service for Initiation and I learned and recited the proficiency my first month in Rainbow.

I love being a part of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls!
