Job’s Daughters Installation

Posted in Blog on June 28th, 2014 by Webmaster

June 27th Hampton Assembly attended Job’s Daughters Bethel 39’s Installation of Officers in Yorktown. Scarlett was installed at Honor Queen of the Bethel. The installation was very beautiful and it was cool to see how their installations are different from ours. The theme was a Night in Paris and there were Effile Towers decorations and a lot of Paris themed food. Scarlett received a mascot which was a poodle and she named him FoFo. It was a great turn out of people and it was really nice to see so many familiar faces. Hampton loves spending time with our Masonic Family.

Carnival

Posted in Blog on June 28th, 2014 by Webmaster

The Rainbow Carnival on the 24th of May was a success! We had games, food and vendors. Plinko was by far the most popular game. We also had cornhole, ring toss, can toss, and so much more! Every time kids won a game they got a token. Later they could take these tokens and exchange them for a fun prize! The girls had so much fun seeing the smiles on the kids faces after winning game. That was a reward in itself. A couple of girls from Richmond came down and had fun with us also. This carnival was a real success and I can’t wait for our next one!

An Angel Among Us

Posted in Blog on June 23rd, 2014 by Webmaster

At the OES Official Visit in Charlottesville on June 14, the Worthy Grand Matron, Barbara Davis-Flanagan, presented an award, ‘Our Angel of Friendship’ for District 17 to our very own Mom Donna Kluefer. The award is being given in every district this year to a person, voted on by the Worthy Matrons of that District, who exemplifies charity, volunteerism and helpfulness to the Chapters and their community.

We are VERY proud of Mom Kluefer for all she does to help others and Virginia Rainbow.

Car Show

Posted in Blog on June 19th, 2014 by Webmaster

On June 7th the girls of Hampton #2 got together to help Monitor’s Master Joe Grist hold their car show. Masons were scattered around either as helpers, contestants or on-lookers. The rainbow girls helped serve a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, and pan fried apples. After breakfast was served girls got to roam around and look at all the cars. One was even a reference to the taxi in the Halloween Town movies! Complete with a skeleton driver! When girls weren’t looking at cars, they were able to go the back parking lot and check out the small vendor fair complete with raffle. One of Hampton’s girls even won a Bag from 31! All in all it was a great day for Hampton girls to not only get closer to each other but also the Masons in the lodge that support them.
