Supreme Assembly – July 31, 2018

Tuesday morning session at supreme was initiation where three candidates were initiated.  All three girls were daughters of master masons.  After the morning session was lunch and since we weren’t going to the girls’ luncheon we headed out to eat.  We had lunch at Steak ‘n Shake including Allison, Eliza, Akshita, me, Mom Amy and Mom Louisa.

Afternoon session was where all the GWAs and past GWAs were introduced.  We cheered from the audience for Libbie, Rachal, Kensley and Mom Renn.  They also presented more jurisdictional skits.

Once the afternoon session was over we rested in the hotel until dinner.  My group had dinner at Panda Express and then we went to the evening session.  Evening session was the cavalcade of flags which lasted half an hour! Mom Renn also gave her final address.  They announced all the ritual competition winners and our own Alyssa K. won 1^st place for the novice age group.  Go Alyssa!

Supreme Assembly – July 30, 2018

Monday at Supreme Assembly was so busy!  My morning was packed since I had both an individual ritual competition and then needed to prepare for two group competitions.  Mom Nancy made sure we all had lunch:  mine was from Chick-fil-a.  After lunch I had my second group competition.  While we were sitting around waiting for our turn it was impressive to look at the other jurisdiction teams getting prepared.  They were so uniform with matching dresses and hair styles!  Once competitions were over I went back to Joella’s room to hang out until it was time for dinner.

My small group had dinner at Denny’s and then we had to rush to the opening session with so many introductions.  It was nice to see all the decorations with the stars that we had been selling all year!  We wanted to go to the hotel pool, but it was too late after opening session to go.

Supreme Banquet – July 29, 2018

My 2018 Supreme Assembly experience officially started with the Supreme Banquet on Sunday, July 29^th.  The room was so big!  It was impressive to see the ballroom because they said there were 101 tables in the room and there were 10 people at each table which didn’t include all the Supreme and acting supreme officers at the front.  They even had live music from a local school orchestra!  They served mashed potatoes, chicken, green beans & carrots, caramel cake and iced tea.  After the meal was over we were able to get a picture of all the girls and adults from Manassas Assembly.  I think that was the only time during the entire week that we were all together as a group.  Once pictures were done we cleared off the centerpieces and went to the dance put on by VA DeMolay and danced into the night until it was over.

Supreme Assembly – August 1, 2018

Wednesday morning session was the official closing and then the installation of the new Supreme Officers.  I had to get up early to pack up my stuff in the room and after breakfast I headed over to the coliseum.  We got to see Mom J installed as the new Supreme Love and found out that the next Supreme will be in Reno, NV in 2020.  Once it was over we helped to take down stars and then we needed to get to the cars to load everything.

We had lunch at Chili’s in Hampton, VA and decided to stop off at Colonial Williamsburg after lunch and we toured it until it closed with Allison, Eliza, me, Mom Amy and Mom Louisa.  We had a good time and the three of us picked up matching friendship rings to remember our time.  After that we went to Yankee Candle to get caramel corn for the trip home.

I am looking forward to Reno 2020!
