Norfolk’s Adopt-a-Park

Posted in Blog on August 1st, 2018 by Christi Reed

On July 23, after our amazing breakfast we served, we decided to go to our adopt a spot and clean up. Kayla, Adam, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Sarah and I were there. We were split into two teams, Sarah, Adam, and Jordan were on one team. Kaitlyn, Kayla and I, were on the other team. We competed to see who get the most trash picked up from the park, to win a prize of Starbucks. My team won!

Manassas Adopt-a-Spot

Posted in Blog on July 25th, 2018 by Christi Reed

The adopt a spot was on June 16th.  The girls met up at the lodge around 11 am.  We had extra girls come, so we divided into two groups.  Some cleaned the road and others cleaned the lodge kitchen.  Those who heading to the road were: Sami, Aaliyah, Zoey, Batu, M’Balu and myself.  The adults were: my Nana and Dad Clancy.  It was really hot out and I don’t do that well in the heat!  Luckily, there wasn’t a lot of trash.  Sami and I along with my Nana went to the far side of the road.  Even though there wasn’t a lot of trash, we found, I guess you can say, “cool things”, like a pair of cutting wire tool.  We all made it to the end of the road at the same time.  We came together to take a picture under our sign.  We then headed back to the lodge, where the girls helped finished cleaning up the kitchen.  It was a nice day and a great way to spend time together with my Rainbow Sisters.

Potluck for the Homeless

Posted in Blog on July 18th, 2018 by Casey Humphries
The first Saturday in July we had our final Potluck for the Homeless for Sierra’s term.  It was very successful, we gave away all the food we brought.  I think they were very grateful and we are always so happy to help.  We have done this every month and I am excited that we will be continuing this charity into the next term because it was very rewarding.

Cinco De Mayo Service Project

Posted in Blog on July 16th, 2018 by Casey Humphries

Richmond Assembly had an amazing time celebrating Cinco de Mayo with the help of Hampton Assembly for Service Day.  We helped Mom Graham make little tacos and home made chips for the patients at Envoy of Williamsburg.  Everyone had a good time playing bingo and just having fun with each other.
