Norfolk Performed the Bow Ceremony

Norfolk Bow CeremonyOn August 11, 2016, the Lake Drummond Lodge invited the Rainbow Girls from Norfolk Assembly to perform the Bow Ceremony for the Youth Night. Everyone did a phenomenal job, especially our pledges, while presenting their parts. During the program, a 60 year Mason pin was presented. It was such an honor to witness the pinning of a Mason who have served for 60 years (and counting)! And, let’s not forget the delicious spaghetti served for dinner before the ceremony!

Serving Dinner at Manasseh Lodge

Posted in Blog on August 17th, 2016 by Webmaster

On Friday, August 5, Katie, Sammie, M’Balu, Batu, Gigi, Dalanie and myself served dinner to the Masons at their Stated meeting. It was their Scholarship Night and there was more than the Masons there. Mom Tammy made some very yummy jambalaya and Mom Cherry made some very tasty cornbread to go along with it. We each brought a dessert. Afterwards we all cleaned up. We had such a fun time, not only seeing and speaking with the Masons but also laughing with each other.

Sunday Church Get Together!

Posted in Blog on August 15th, 2016 by Webmaster

Bring A Friend to ChurchOn July 31st, a few members of Hampton Assembly decided to meet up and go to Bring a Friend Day at the church that helps us with feeding the homeless. Julia, Kensley, and myself had been to Sunday church service there before and we were very glad to go again. They had a great service and there was even a fake mountain and camp site in the front where later that evening they would hold the start of their vacation bible school this summer! The three of us and our families stayed for lunch afterwards and all had a fun time joking and enjoying each other’s company together. It was a mighty fine day!

Child ID Report

Posted in Blog on August 9th, 2016 by Webmaster

On July 23, 2016 Olivia and I went to help with the Child ID program in Hampton, Virginia. We got to see many adorable kids. In order to make an ID, you first have to enter their information in the computer. Next, you have to take scans of their fingerprints and put them in the computer. The next thing you have to do is take pictures of the child from the front, back, and side. Also, we have a microphone that lets us record the child’s voice, unless it is a baby, then we don’t do a recording. After all of the data is recorded, we make a print out of this information. We also put all of this information on a CD. Once the CD and the paper are finished being burned or printed, we give it to the parent or adult guardian. Overall, I enjoy doing Child ID and can’t wait for the upcoming ones.
