Rainbow Girls on the Road

Rainbow Girls on the RoadOn January 30, Rachal and I had a particularly busy weekend.

First, in the morning we were up early and attended the Richmond Installation. They did an awesome job and collected lots of jeans for their charity “Jeans for Teens “. We had some food and cake and then we were on our way to Fredericksburg. Rachal was their Installing Marshall. They raised a lot of money for their charity during the silver collection. While there, we ran into many other Rainbow Girls and friends who were also traveling that day.

After a quick bite to eat, we jumped in the car to head back to Norfolk. Later that evening we were helping DJ the Winter Ball. Norfolk Assembly and Norfolk Chapter had an amazing turnout at the dance. Rachal and I had so much fun helping with the music and we were happy their dance was a success. (Read more about that here.)

It was a long day but one we will always remember. There is no better way to spend a Saturday than traveling around the State visiting with all your friends.

Much Rainbow Love,

Brotherhood Weekend

Posted in Blog on March 13th, 2016 by Webmaster

After a cold morning of sailing, it was a sweet surprise to see that some of my Rainbow Sisters had come to cheer me on! After the races, we all went inside to warm up over lunch. Then we met up with friends from Norfolk Assembly and headed to Richmond for the DeMolay Brotherhood Dance. We always have fun traveling. Some of our best memories are made on these trips. The dance was a lot of fun. There were tons of people there and the boys are always in a fun mood after finishing their competitions and are ready to dance. The girls and I enjoyed seeing everyone and danced the night away.

Much Rainbow Love

Donating Food at Norfolk’s Winter Ball

Posted in Blog on February 10th, 2016 by Webmaster

On January 30, 2016, Norfolk Rainbow Girls and the Norfolk DeMolay put together the Norfolk Winter Ball. This was held at the Granby Lodge in Virginia. For admission people either paid $3 or brought three canned food items to help their charity. I thought this was a great idea to have people come to the dance and bring in items to help the Worthy Advisor’s term. They had a great turn out of people ranging from babies and toddlers to adults. It was a great mixture of Rainbow, DeMolay, and Jobs Daughters. Some of Hampton Rainbow and Tidewater DeMolay helped DJ a great selection of music. There was fun dancing, good vibes, and of course, a conga line!!!

Success at Smithfield’s Christmas Evening Farmers Market

Posted in Blog on January 22nd, 2016 by Webmaster

Smithfield's Farmers MarketOn Friday, December 11th, 2015 the Smithfield Assembly #5 Rainbow Girls participated in Smithfield’s Christmas Evening Farmers Market! All the girls made a type of pastry or another homemade item to sell, such as cupcakes, cookies and even arm-knit scarves. We made over $200 and all the proceeds are going to our current Worthy Advisor’s charity, FACT Camp for Autism. The market was open from 5-9pm and within those 4 hours we met other Rainbow Girls from out of state, some former Smithfield Rainbow Girls, and a Past Grand Worthy Advisor of Virginia! We also passed out flyers and explained to people what Rainbow is about, along with the other Masonic organizations, and how you could join. Every minute was exciting that evening and I was so glad to be able to do it!
