Clue Game

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On February 26th , 2022, Manassas Assembly played the game Clue… live!! It was a lot of fun and a great new experience.  I love playing the board game, and I thought it would be cool to do it in real life.  At first it was difficult deciding on how to do it, but we ended up finding a version that was possible to play in real life, and wow- it was so much fun.  We started out by hiding about 50 envelopes around the lodge, each one containing a card, these cards were either suspects, rooms, weapons, or even role cards!  After they were all hidden, we were set off to find them and however many you found is what you were stuck with.  Once they were all found, the game began and we had to find out the murderer, room, and weapon by the information we had.  There were alliances, trickery, and more… it was so much fun!  I think it was really creative and would definitely do it again!

Camp Know-Where

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On April 15 & 16, 2022, Manassas Assembly held a “Camp Know-Where” trip (based on the tv show Stranger Things).  We had a lot of girls show up and it was a great bonding experience for the newer girls!  We ended up spending most of our time playing games such as Ga Ga Ball, “Redneck” Croquet, corn hole, bocce ball, and more.  After a day full of games, we all headed back to the camp site, ate dinner, and roasted s’mores, we even decided to use ice cream cones and stuffed them with marshmallows, chocolate chips, and other candies and tried cooking them.  Some people used the smart method by wrapping it in tin foil and putting it over the fire… but I tried using two mallow sticks as big chopsticks and dropped mine in the fire, haha!  We had an amazing time and I hope we get to do more camping trips in the future

Kings Dominion trip

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On May 28 a bunch of girls from Manassas Assembly and some girls from Richmond Assembly, along with some prospects and family, all went to Kings Dominion for the day. We met at the park at 11am and we split off into our own groups and just kind of did our own things. It was also Avery’s first time at an amusement park and her first time on a roller coaster and I’m so happy I got to be part of that experience for her. I also got to watch Sam do a bungie cord drop-swing thing and her scream bloody murder. But my favorite thing about the trip was I got to see and spend time with a bunch of my Rainbow sisters and we all got to have fun together.

“Big sister, little sister”

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

Manassas Assembly has this thing called “Big sister, Little sister”. When a girl gets initiated, she gets assigned a “Big Sister”.   That big sister is supposed to help guide her new little sister through Rainbow and answer any questions. I really like this, and I think it’s really helpful.  I remember when I was new in Rainbow, I was so confused and overwhelmed.  I think most girls feel that way after their Initiation and being assigned a big sister helped me.  I had someone there who I could ask questions and I wouldn’t be as nervous with. I was a little more comfortable asking questions because I was really shy and having that person really helped me. The big sisters are usually line officers when they get assigned a little sister. I fairly recently, about 4 months ago got a little sister and she has really come a long way since she has joined. She just dug right into everything, and she continues to want to learn as much as she can about Rainbow and I’m glad I could help her learn about something.   I am so proud of her, and I know she will do great things in the future.
