Manassas Sleepover

Posted in Blog on July 11th, 2018 by Webmaster

Dalanie and I from Manassas Assembly went to the sleepover at St. Tammany Lodge. There were only two other Assemblies that went.  Hampton, which had two girls, Rachel and Olivia, and Fairfax had Zoe, Lorkin, Paige and Kaylie. It was really hot in the Lodge, so we had big fans running to bring down the heat and humidity for the night and the next day.

During the sleepover, Dalanie, Zoe and I all shared one little air mattress (we also giggled and laughed to make it work somehow) it was very cramped, but we managed! In the morning, everyone slowly got up and got ready. We even stopped at Wawa for some early morning snacks.

Bake Sale

Posted in Blog on July 10th, 2018 by Webmaster

The bake-sale on June 1st was a nice way to spend a Friday night with Dalanie and Gigi, although Dalanie left, Gigi worked, and Mom Priscilla sat with me. We met up at the Lodge around 6 and started at 6:40. We had apple pie, apple fritter bread, rice krispies treats, chocolate chunk cookies, chocolate chip pie and brownie bites. Dalanie was the first to make a donation, she took a rice krispie.  It was more of a donation than a bake-sale but we still enjoyed it. We made about $83.75 in donations. We wrapped up around 7:50 and went home. Over all it was a great night and everything went smoothly.

An Ocean Of Knowledge

An Ocean Of Knowledge

My school is like an ocean
For when I first arrived,
There was so much commotion
Thought I never would survive

My locker got me tangled
In a jumbled net of junk,
It all was so confusing
That I felt like giving up

I finally got untangled
After quite a while,
Then walked into my classroom
And was greeted with a smile!

My teacher was as welcoming
As a rising ocean tide,
She told me to find my desk
And put my things inside

Each new kid was different
Like a unique kind of fish,
So I sat down, and in my head
I made a little wish

I hoped this year would be filled up
With lots of friends and fun,
But how to not be worried
Since the year had just begun?

And then before I knew it
It was time to head to lunch,
The students hurried quickly
So they’d get some time to munch

The lunch tables reminded me
Of noisy schools of fish,
All the friends were crowded in,
And sometimes seemed quite squished

Each class at school was different
And soon the day was done,
Then suddenly I realized
I actually had some fun!

As the year went on I noticed
That I wasn’t as afraid,
As I thought I would be
When I came here my first day

Sometimes there are hurricanes
That sweep in lots of doubt,
But I learned to overcome them
And drown my worries out

I work my hardest every day
To always earn good grades,
And thankfully I even made
Great friends along the way!

Now I know my school is like
A giant coral reef,
All the separate parts of it
Are different and unique!

My school is never just a school,
A place to learn indoors,
It’s really an ocean of knowledge,
There for students to explore!

Manassas Assembly Charity

Posted in Blog on July 8th, 2018 by Webmaster

Manassas Assembly has supported Supreme 2018 for the past two terms. We have raised money to go towards this huge event for all that Rainbow has done for us in our lives. Now it’s our turn to give back! Our Assembly has held fundraisers, dinners, and coin collections to go to our charity. We hope our profits will help cover some of the cost!
