On August 14^th, 2021, Ashburn Assembly #11 held their Installation of Officers at 2 pm. Brenna was installed as Worthy Advisor, and the assembly’s theme for the term is Star Wars. JoElla and I are huge fans of Star Wars, so we were both excited to attend. Prior to the Installation starting, pictures were taken. Brenna’s mascot was a Rey doll, which she named “Rey Rey”. She was presented with her sister Erin’s hand-made gavel to preside with. Her parents also presented her with a gavel so big that Mom Ange described it as a “Thor gavel” which was engraved with her name, a Rainbow emblem, and a resistance symbol to represent her term. Following the Installation there was unique space themed food which included blue spaghetti, pink and purple rolls, and a green boba drink that was quite popular! I’m so happy that I was able to visit some of my friends from Ashburn that I haven’t seen in a while, and I am looking forward to going back soon.

On Sunday, July 24th, Samantha was installed as Worthy Advisor of Richmond Assembly! It was a fun theme, “Finding Magic From Within”, that allowed for a lot of fun watching the installation! I loved how the ‘court wizard’ sent Samantha on a ‘quest’ for her gavel and was presented with her mascots as ‘companions for the quest’! The Installing Team did an exceedingly beautiful job, and the music was very fitting for the theme! The decorations, food, and carrying pieces all were beautiful in furthering her theme and making us all feel like we were on a quest through the forest! I know Richmond Assembly is going to have a blast this term with Samantha leading them all to find their inner magic!

Allison – Manassas #13

On August 1^st, 2021, Fredericksburg Assembly #12 held their Installation of Officers at 2 pm. Anna was installed as Worthy Advisor and I was asked to serve as Installing Marshal. Anna chose to base the assembly’s term theme off the anime Hunter x Hunter. There was a lot of theming around the entire lodge, which included butterflies and playing cards. My favorite part of the installation was when Ashley and the rest of the assembly put together a skit for Anna to go through an exam and to receive her “hunter’s license” to go along with the theming of the term and to find her mascots. Anna’s mascot is the whale which she named Shizuku. Anna also received a new gavel and sounding block from her parents which had the Hunter x Hunter logo on them. Following the Installation, refreshments were served. I am so happy that I was able to help my friends at a sister assembly!

On July 24^th, 2021, Richmond Assembly held their Installation of Officers. Mom Jean and Mom Ange drove me, M’Balu, Batu, and Zoey. With 6 of us in the car, the drive was very fun and a bit hectic, as per usual. Samantha F was installed as Worthy Advisor. The assembly’s term theme is all about magic and fantasy. Samantha’s mascots are a griffon and opossum. My favorite moment was when the assembly presented a skit for Samantha to find her mascots and her gavel, which they called “the hammer of the worthy” to fit with the theme. Following the Installation refreshments were served, which included very cute woodland decorations and mushroom cupcakes.
