On October 6^th, Meagan and I had the chance to be guests at a DeMolay Installation and the Reinstitution of a Chapter that died down years ago.  This being my first time going to a DeMolay event, I thought it was amazing to see some of the meaning of DeMolay and learn some more about my Masonic brothers. Starting with a dinner that was catered by an outside business, the food was pretty good I must say. When it came time for the service, the State Master Councilor of Virginia DeMolay, Darren, arrived from previous commitments. One of the most important guests since Darren was the one to Reinstitute the Chapter and install all the new members.“It is amazing to see this Chapter grow from being a club with two members to opening the Chapter back up with 15 members.” Darren mentioned during all the remarks of the program. Needless to say, it was worth the two hour drive. The picture below is Meagan and I with Darren SMC, Derrick the Deputy State Master Councilor in Virginia, and Joseph the Master Councilor of George W. Farley Chapter.

Hampton Assembly #2

Even though the rain hadn’t been too nice to us with Masonic Family Day our Rainbow still shown through; that night Rainbow hosted a murder mystery dinner. There was jousting, fair ladies, glorious kings, huge turkey legs, and……. murder. Everyone had a part to play in figuring out who was the murderer and possibly being the murderer themselves. It was a night of mystery, suspicions, and just good fun. It started with all the characters getting to know each other and then tragedy struck the manor when one of the guests was killed. The rest of the night everyone was asking questions trying to figure out who the murderer was. Not only was it fun to get into character and try and solve the mystery but it was awesome spending time with our Masonic family. We had a great turn out from not only the Rainbow Girls, but the DeMolay and Job’s Daughters as well. It was great to see the youth groups coming together for some food and fun.

Richmond Assembly #10

Who would have thought that a trip to Virginia Beach with my parents would end up with a Rainbow ending? The day before we were to leave a Rescue Conference I attended with my parents in Virginia Beach, my Dad saw on the Rainbow website there’s a billboard about Rainbow Girls, Job’s Daughters, and DeMolay sponsored by the Masonic Organizations we represent. There are four billboards for the youth organizations in the Norfolk area that were paid for by a Mason. They invited all of us in the area to stop by at noon on September 29th, and get a picture all together under one of the signs.

Although we were early, it was fun to wait and watch Phantom of the Opera on our laptop. All of a sudden lots of cars, trucks and vans showed up. They were full of Job’s Daughters from Bethel 42 and two DeMolay. We all had fun greeting each other and I gave them my card because I was the only Rainbow Girl that was able to come. I really wanted to climb up and sit on the platform in front of the sign, but mom said no. One of the girls had actually come to the MCHQWA Ball September 21, at Kena in Fairfax. My Dad recognized her and she was happy he remembered her. It was fun to see more of our Masonic Family around our State.

Ashburn Assembly No. 11

Where to start, I had so much fun. I was able to share with my new Sister, Kylie, and my sister from Manassas, Alexis, so much fun dancing. It was the first time that Kylie came to a Ball because she is new to Rainbow, but I know it will not be her last. The music and food were excellent as always and so many Sisters and Brothers were able to come.

I actually had the honor of getting to escort the Virginia State Grand Worthy Advisor, Katie Whidden, to be introduced. I got to hold the Red Panda in one arm and escort her with the other. It was so much fun. Also my Worthy Advisor of Ashburn Assembly, Darby, was escorted by her Dad. It was the first time for her to be presented as our Worthy Advisor.

Even though it had been a long day it was a wonderful one.
