On Saturday March 19th, Manassas Assembly went roller skating at Skate ‘n Fun Zone in Manassas. It was really cold and rainy, so I’m glad we decided not to play mini golf. I was there with Gigi, Vanessa, Jazmyn, Sydney, Isabella and her friend, Aubrey. We played laser tag, skated, and played some games at the arcade. It was a lot of fun!

Manassas Celebrates Faith on Rainbow Sunday

On Sunday, April 10, Manassas Assembly went to Grace United Methodist Church for Rainbow Sunday. We had a great turnout. We had 28 people from our Assembly attending. The girls that went were, Vanessa, Gigi, Dalanie, Sami, Zoey, M’ Balu, Sydney, and myself along with other family members and adults on the board. After church, we went to Olive Garden. We had fun spending time with our Rainbow family and celebrating our faith in Rainbow!

On March 26, 2016, Monitor Lodge had its 150th anniversary. In keeping with our Grand Worthy Advisor’s theme this year, I felt this was a very important article to share. The banquet was held at the Mariner’s Museum in none other than the section dedicated to the very ironclad the Lodge was named after. We got a chance before and after to walk through that section of the museum and learn some of its history.

When the banquet began, our State Rainbow Dad and the Worshipful Master of Monitor Lodge, Mr. Joseph Grist, told us some of the history of the Lodge. I very much enjoyed hearing this and learning something new that had seemingly nothing to do with Hampton Assembly but is just as much our history as it is theirs.

There were many presentations along with three community builder awards given out. Alexis and I sat with Job’s Daughters Miss Congeniality, Camran, and the Grand Master of Virginia and his wife, Mr and Mrs James Edward Litten. It was such an honor. They were very sweet and welcoming people. Though nervous at first, Alexis and I became very comfortable by the end of dinner.

There were many familiar along with so many unfamiliar faces. It was an honor to spend such an amazing occasion with such amazing people. We were so glad we got to support a group of Masons who have supported us so much throughout the years.

On March 5, 2016, Manassas Assembly hosted a Spaghetti Dinner. Dalanie, Sydney, Zoey, Vanessa, Katie, Sammi, Selena, Isabella, Kate, Olivia and I served guests and washed dishes. We were very pleased by the turn out, many adult leaders came to support us in our fundraising endeavours including the Worthy Matron and Royal Matron of our local OES Chapter and Amaranth Court, our Worshipful Master, Dad Chris, and our Supreme Deputy Mom Jenkins. Vegetarian sauce was provided by Dad Phil and the meat sauce was provided by local restaurant Mama Mia’s Pizza. Both sauces proved to be great hits among Lodge members and guests. The rest of the food was prepared by Mom Debbie who worked incredibly hard with all the girls to make sure everything was perfect, without her, we wouldn’t have gotten anything done. There were very few leftovers by the end of the night!

After people had finished their food and left, the girls had lots of fun joking around with each other while working to clean up, and of course, flinging water on each other while washing dishes.

All in all it was a great success and we look forward to upcoming events!
