Grand Assembly 2017: By Victoria

Posted in Blog on August 10th, 2017 by Casey Humphries

Grand Assembly was beyond great for Richmond! We got our new initiate, Emma, who was very happy to get initiated as a Rainbow Girl at Grand Assembly. We are very lucky to have her in our Assembly because we know she is going to be an amazing Rainbow Girl. Our Mother Advisor Shanon Jackson and our past Worthy Advisor Jessica both received the Grand Cross of Color and we are very proud of them. The Assembly also enjoyed the dance we had, it was great to meet new girls from different Assemblies. We celebrated the following Grand Appointments from our Assembly for 2017-2018:

Jessica: Grand Representative to Alabama and Maryland
Brianna: Grand Representative to Brazil and Georgia
Victoria (me!): Grand Representative to California and North Carolina
Sierra: Grand Representative to New York and Oregon
Taylor: Grand Flag Tribute to the Rainbow Flag
Lina: Grand Page to the Supreme Inspector

We also won third place in the Rodeo competition, Sierra won first place for the written Ritual test for her age group, and Kathy, who recently received her Majority, won third place in her age group.

Our Assembly is looking forward to Olivia’s “Sail Into Rainbow” Grand term this year and we know she is going to make an amazing Grand Worthy Advisor.

Scrapbooking and Swimming

Posted in Blog on June 21st, 2017 by Webmaster

On June 10, 2017, we met at the Waverly Club Sports Pavilion for scrapbooking and swimming.  The girls who were there included:  Gigi, Joella, Delaney, Mackenzie, Zoe N., Maribel, Zoey W., M’Balu, Batu, Vanessa and me.  The adults who were there were:  Mom Priscilla, Mom Paula, and Mom Louisa.  The event started at 10am and we had lots of fun making pages for the scrapbook and listened to music and talked while we worked.  For lunch we had pizza from Tony’s Pizza in Haymarket.  A little before 2pm we cleaned up the meeting room and got ready to swim.  We all had fun and played at the pool on a hot sunny day.

2017 Spring MCHQWA Ball

Posted in Blog on May 6th, 2017 by Webmaster

On April 29, we went to MCHQWA Ball. Lauren and Sara rode in one car while Brittany, a prospect, and I drove in another car to meet more of our Rainbow Sisters at the Ball. On the way to the Ball, we took the backroads and ended up in Maryland where we then headed back down to Virginia.

The road trip there was so much fun, but the dance was even more fun. We danced the night away and then had introductions where most of the Hampton Girls there were either introduced or acted as escorts. As the dance continued, we danced even more.

The night was filled with laughter and I was sad when it was time to go home. I can’t wait until the next MCHQWA Ball!

Manassas Lodge Easter Party

Posted in Blog on May 3rd, 2017 by Webmaster

April 15, 2017 – We arrived right on time, just before 1pm.  We were greeted by decorations and lots of food at the Manassas Masonic Lodge. There were games to play and quizzes to take that were fun.  One activity required us to get signatures of different people who knew or did/does or had been somewhere.  This was great because everyone was able to mingle and learn about each other.  There was an Easter questionnaire as well as a Charlie Brown questionnaire.  You could also guess on the number of jellybeans in a jar too.  Towards the end of the party there was the traditional Easter Egg Hunt.  I stayed and helped with the clean-up at the end before going home.

It was the end of an eventful day as a Rainbow Girl in Manassas Assembly #13.
