Preston’s Installation

The Prince William DeMolay Chapter’s Installation was on March 24.  A lot of people were there. One of the Rainbow Girl’s (Vanessa) brother was the one who got installed Master Councilor. My brothers were installing officers.  Noah did the Installing Officer part and Ryan was Junior Councilor.  They did a very good job at their parts. The gavel and ring Preston got were pretty.  Dad Costis made the gavel. It was cool that he made the gavel out of a block of wood.
Dad Stallings presented the Costis Family with an honorary DeMolay member certificate.  We know Matthew would have been a great DeMolay!

Mystery Dinner

Posted in Blog on April 21st, 2018 by Webmaster

On March 24th, Manassas Assembly had a dinner fundraiser. The dinner was a Mystery Dinner. We pre- sold tickets and had about 80 people attend. We opened the doors at 5 and everyone started rushing in. Everyone was given a piece of paper to choose which food they would like to have for each of their four courses, but the twist was the guests were not given the real names of the food.  For example, peas and carrots were called bats and balls. The dinner was a lot of fun but also a lot of work but the work payed off and the dinner was a huge success.

Mystery Dinner Report

Posted in Blog on April 20th, 2018 by Webmaster

On March 24th, 2018, Manassas Assembly #13 held its Mystery Dinner at the Lodge. The Girls in attendance were Sami, Katie, Dalanie, Isabella, Vanessa, Joella, Jazmyn, Maribel, Lillian, Gigi, Emma, Ella, Kassidy, and myself. I ended up arriving late because of technical difficulties, aka my brother refusing to get ready and get in the car. When everyone ordered, it made us chuckle a bit, seeing as we knew what they were ordering, and most likely it wasn’t too good a mix. I thought someone would get all the utensils and a napkin for a meal, but sadly, I don’t think that happened. After the third table had its last course, we brought all the food out, so people could know what they are going to eat, and they could also have utensils. Overall, the dinner was awesome, and I had lots of fun serving.

Manassas Mystery Dinner

Posted in Blog on April 18th, 2018 by Webmaster

Many of us were already at the Lodge from the DeMolay Installation earlier in the afternoon, but we all got changed from formal dresses into our plaid shirts for the Mystery Dinner and were ready to begin working by 4pm.  The dinner was different this time in that the people who bought tickets did not know what they were going to be eating.  In the lobby was the silent auction.

At 5pm, we opened the doors for the dining room so people could be seated as everyone would be eating dinner at the same time.  Everyone was given a piece of paper that showed four courses and there was a list of what people could order with twenty-four items.  Each course would give diners five items, and at the end of each course all places were cleared including cups and any silverware ordered.   Since food, drinks and silverware were all mixed up, it made for some very interesting combinations.  Once the four courses were done, the food was brought out to the dining room and people were actually able to eat the food they wanted in better proportions.  At around 7pm, the silent auction winners were announced.  Once it was all over we all helped to clean up and we were able to go home shortly after by 8pm.
