Cornhole Tournament

Posted in Blog on June 27th, 2018 by Webmaster

On May 20, Prince William DeMolay Chapter invited Manassas Assembly to their cornhole tournament. Sami, Vanessa, Joella, Ella, Leela, and myself were there, as well as a lot of DeMolay boys. We picked our partners and picked a number to decide which teams played each other. Mom Erin was my partner. We definitely underestimated ourselves! We won the first game and then the second and just kept winning! We actually made it to the final round! In the finals it was double elimination so we had to win by 2 games. We won the first game of the finals and then we lost the second. We came back and took the win in the third game. Turns out we were better at cornhole than we thought! Not to brag, but I had a pretty awesome partner!! We got to sign a cool trophy! There was also a food competition. Moms Joanne and Erin won trophies for the food competition, too! I also got a little tan from being in the sun for a couple hours and who doesn’t love tanning!

DeMolay Dodgeball

Posted in Blog on June 25th, 2018 by Webmaster

It was an honor to participate in the DeMolay Dodgeball for Dyslexia competition in Pennsylvania on my birthday. We got up early in the morning and headed to Ashburn to meet up with the DeMolay boys and then drove to Pennsylvania. Along the way, we stopped for a tasty lunch filled with lunch meat sandwiches. There were two other Rainbow Girls with me on this trip, Emma and Sara, and two Rainbow Pledges, Leela and Ella.

My team, the Hedgehogs, lost on the first round but we definitely put up good fight! The two teams that made it to the finals were from Virginia, which was a huge win for us. The final two teams fought head to head and had a very entertaining competition.

After dodgeball was finished, we headed to eat dinner and then to Hershey Park! At dinner, all of the DeMolays sang happy birthday to me and it was so sweet. I am so lucky that I got to spend my birthday with such wonderful people and some of my Masonic family.

Rainbow Means Road Trips

Posted in Blog on June 24th, 2018 by Webmaster

If you are ever looking for the time of your life, it is definitely in the car on the way to a Rainbow event! Sometimes the car ride itself is the best part of the trip. The trips usually start bright and early in the morning with lots of Rainbow Girls piled into one car. All of the girls are fully stocked with pillows and blankets to nap for a little bit. After a short time in the car, we usually stop by Starbucks and get caffeine and food. Shortly after this stop, everyone in the car is awake. For the next few hours in the car, it is endless singing to the radio, funny SnapChats of each other, hilarious jokes and lots of laughing!

Sometimes on road trips we take stops along the way. For example, on one road trip, we made a stop at a small beach outside of Hampton to run around and take funny pictures. Another car trip we made a stop for the restroom after one girl was needing to use the bathroom, while we were on a small road in the middle of nowhere. It took about 20 mins to find the closest bathroom but we eventually made it, even after the driver offered to stop on the side of the road to let the girl hide behind a tree and use the bathroom (the girl didn’t find it very funny!).

We have also made many stops at consignment shops along the way to find lots of great clothing and formal dresses. We always find the best stuff when we thrift shop together. Another way car rides are always entertaining is that sometimes when we stop we have to walk in to wherever we’re going in formal dresses even if it’s a gas station or fast food restaurant. I love always getting to stay up until 2 AM with my Rainbow Sisters singing our favorite songs!

Rainbow car rides will always be one of my favorite events!

The MCHQWA Ball

Posted in Blog on June 22nd, 2018 by Webmaster

On April 28, Manassas Assembly attended the MCHQWA ball. We had over 15 girls and lots of adults. Katie was introduced as Worthy Advisor and a Grand Officer. Gigi was also introduced as a Grand Officer. We all danced and hung out with the other youth groups there. It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait for the next one!
