Kennedy Center

On Sunday, October 16th, Manassas Assembly took a tour of the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.  It was free of charge, and our tour guide was awesome.  He took us all around the Kennedy Center and into several of the theaters.  I didn’t realize how many gifts from other countries and pieces of artwork are displayed all around as you walk through.  Many different countries have given items such as the marble for the Hall of Nations, the crystal chandeliers, and the silk curtains in the theaters.  There are paintings, sculptures, and even wood carvings and frescoes on the ceiling in some areas.  There is even a drum from the Beijing Olympics.  It was a really fun event.

MCHQWA Ball

Posted in Blog on December 27th, 2018 by Christi Reed

On September 22nd the MCHQWA Ball was held at the Alexandria Scottish Rite Temple.  There were a lot of people there from all over the state.  This was also the first time my dad came to one of the dances.  My mom and I made him come on the dance floor for Don’t Stop Believin’.  I had a really great time dancing with all my friends, just like every other dance.  I didn’t get home until after midnight and I was exhausted the next day, but it was worth it.

Donut Sale

On November 10, 2018, Manassas Assembly held a Krispy Kreme donut sale fundraiser.  We were selling donuts in really cold weather!  The girls there were Allison, Samantha M., Jazmyn, Katie and me.  To pass the time and stay warm some of us danced and sang along to Disney and Christmas music.  When the sale was over some of us met up at Mod Pizza for lunch.

Amaranth Game Night

On Friday, October 5th, I went to a game night fundraiser for Amaranth at Henry Lodge in Fairfax. We played games such as UNO, Ticket to Ride, Harry Potter Trivia, Monopoly, and Exploding Kittens. We played games with both girls and adults from other assemblies. All the money went to support diabetes. We also had drinks and snacks. It was really fun.
