On October 11^th, 2020, I got to have a quick lunch with the Grand Worthy Advisor, Vanessa!  Emily and I were selling some honey at the craft fair, and Vanessa was hungry, so she invited us to go to the mall food court with her to get some food.  We got there and headed into the mall to decide on what to eat.  Vanessa got pizza, while Emily and I got sushi.  It was fun to sit down and have some funny conversations with Vanessa, because she is a great person to hang out with!  After we were done eating, we got back into Vanessa’s car and headed to a tea place that she wanted us to try.  On the way there Emily and I were laughing really hard because Vanessa was getting mad at her Bluetooth.  We got to the tea place and Vanessa told us to try the Thai tea with boba, which is exactly what we did.  The drink came with a lid on it so Vanessa specifically said, “Don’t worry, you can’t spill it, it has a lid”.  Yet somehow, Emily managed to spill it all over her lanyard and legs, it was really funny.  We finally got back after listening to some great music and thanked Vanessa for taking us, I had a fun time. We love our Grand Worthy Advisor!

On September 12^th, 2020, the Rainbow Girls held a 50’s themed drive-in movie!  It was a blast!  There were so many cool outfits to represent the 50’s, such as poodle skirts, Pink Ladies’ jackets, and even letterman jackets.  Everyone was so excited when people started showing up.  Some girls directed cars to their spots. Others worked on concessions.  Some were selling grand merchandise, and others were selling mini-cardboard cars for the younger children.  We intended to have a couple of cars, maybe 9 or 10…but we ended up having so many cars that the whole parking lot and even some of the grass area was full!  Everyone had a good time eating their snacks in their car while getting to listen to the movie on a personal radio station and getting to watch it on a big projector.  After we were all finally done directing cars, delivering snacks, and selling things, everyone including the girls got to relax and watch the movie, and even got to have fun conversations on the side.  The 50’s drive-in movie was so much fun and a huge success, and I hope we get to do it again another time!

Sam – Manassas Assembly #13

On September 26th, 2020, A group of Rainbow Girls and I got to attend a virtual MCHQWA Ball.  We had lots of fun.  Everyone was so excited to hear people get announced even though it was virtual.  Due to the circumstance of COVID-19, we unfortunately did not get to see everyone in person or dance, but we found solutions to still make it fun and awesome.  Our youth leadership set up a Disney Kahoot! For all the girls and boys to play. It was SO much fun! 44 people participated.  So, even though we were not able to be there in person, I am glad that we got to attend the MCHQWA Ball.

Samantha – Manassas Assembly #13

On August 29^th, 2020, through the 30^th, Manassas Assembly #13 hosted a Rainbow event called “Sisterhood Weekend”.  We had loads of fun.  On the 29^th we all head down to Charlottesville, VA, to participate in an escape room.  All the girls and parents were SO excited.  There were two rooms, A Thomas Jefferson room and an Edgar Allen Poe room.  I was in the Edgar Allen Poe room, and it was super freaky and fun. After the escape room, we all drove to Monticello which is Thomas Jefferson’s home and ate lunch.  After we were all done eating our lunches, we got to take a tour of Monticello.  It was so cool to be able to be inside of Thomas Jefferson’s real-life house and knowing that you were walking in the same footsteps that he did.  After Monticello, we all headed to a Llama farm to camp out, and we played games ALL night.  Finally, to top it all off, when we woke up in the morning on the 30^th, we got to go hiking with llamas! The llamas were so beautiful and for the most part calm.  I loved sisterhood weekend and cannot wait for the next one. It’s going to be so much fun!
