Valentine’s with Rockingham Union Lodge

Posted in Blog on February 9th, 2014 by Webmaster

DSC_1952aOn the evening of February 8th, Erin and I got the privilege of attending the Valentine’s Dinner of Rockingham Union Lodge in Harrisonburg, VA. It was our first time meeting the Masons in this Lodge. We arrived and got a tour of the Lodge which was built in the 1700s. The Lodge is full of history of America and they are currently doing renovations to get stained glass windows which look spectacular. After our tour, we got to meet all of the Master Masons and their wives. We enjoyed our dinner talking with them about school, goats, and firefighting. The dinner was delicious and it was cool to see how excited they were to meet some Rainbow Girls. In the picture is the Worshipful Master Russell Pence.

Out, about, and around the sea!

Posted in Blog on February 3rd, 2014 by Webmaster

On January 26th, 2014, Hampton Assembly #2 had their Installation of Officers. Maddy was installed as Worthy Adviser for this term. Her mascot is a dolphin, which went with her theme of “Out, About, and Around the Sea.” The dining hall was decked out in light blue and aqua green. Her Installing Officer was Danielle, who is a Past Worthy Advisor of Hampton Assembly. She was the person who introduced Rainbow to Maddy, so it was extra special. During her Silver Collection, she raised over $160 for her charity, Wounded Warriors. After the Installation, we headed downstairs for refreshments. A few minutes later, Samantha and Libbie appeared with her mascot, to get it back, Maddy had to earn $15 in change and sing “What Does the Dolphin Say?” She earned a total of over $180 for Wounded Warriors to go toward her goal of $1,500. The Installation was quite enjoyable and everyone is proud of her.

Fredericksburg Masters of the Grand Cross Break Bread

Posted in Blog on December 7th, 2013 by Webmaster

Grand Cross ObservanceOn November 16, we went to Panera and all ordered the same thing. We used our bread loaves and literally broke it as we celebrated the Grand Cross. We didn’t talk about Rainbow very much. We talked about school, color guard, band, instruments…basically everything outside of our Rainbow lives.

We had fun! It was cold outside. We had plans to go to the mall afterwards, but got lost and separated from each other. 🙁  We’ll have to do that another time.

We had a good time reconnecting, just the four of us! And we’d love to do it again sometime…hopefully before the next Grand Cross Observance!
