My First Grand Assembly

Posted in Blog on August 6th, 2015 by Webmaster
This was my first Grand Assembly, but it definitely won’t be my last. It took place July 17-18 at the Doubletree in Williamsburg. There were a lot of people there from all over Virginia, Rainbow Girls and supporting Masonic organizations. We even had some visitors from South Carolina. I also got to see my friend from Springfield Assembly, which doesn’t happen very often. The sessions were very long, but the ceremonies were beautiful, especially the Book of Memories. The Fun Activities listed on the schedule really were fun. The talent show was great, and I had a lot of fun performing Rock Lobster with my friends. The dance was really fun. I knew a most of the songs, and I requested some of my favorites. The Grand Banquet was one of my favorite events. Even though I couldn’t participate in Competitions this year, it was still fun to hear the winners and cheer for people I know. I had a really good time at this Grand Assembly, and I hope to be able to go to the next one.

2015 DeMolay Conclave

Posted in Blog on August 3rd, 2015 by Webmaster

The DeMolay Conclave was a lot of fun!  The Conclave was held on July 25th, 2015 at Christopher Newport University.  There were 6 girls from Manassas that attended, Gigi, Delanie, Katie, Kate, Selena and me.  On the way down, we stopped at Starbucks.  All were happy about the stop, but Katie was the most excited.  Her drink was as big as she was.  We got there before the dance started, so Grand Worthy Advisor, Rachel Cochrane, gave us a little tour of the campus.

Conclave

After the tour it was time for the dance.  We had a lot of fun and met a lot of other Masonic youth.  I can’t wait until next year’s Conclave.

Everything is Awesome at the Job’s Daughters Installation

Posted in Blog on March 20th, 2015 by Webmaster

Herndon Bethel #52 invited me to their Installation of Officers which took place on Saturday January 24th. Rachel Babbitt was installed as Honored Queen. Her theme is “Everything is Awesome” and her charity is The Forever Home Foundation. I thought it was very interesting seeing a Jobs Daughters Installation because it is so different from what I’m used to with Rainbow. Although the organizations are very different there are many parallels between the two, such as floor work and squaring your corners. I’m pleased to say I was not the only Rainbow Girl in attendance. There were at least six Rainbow Girls present representing three different Assemblies. Way to show support everyone! I was very impressed with Rachel’s Installation and her message of “Everything is Awesome”. Although I could not stay for much of the reception that followed, I was able to scarf down two delicious cupcakes. I look forward to the next Job’s Daughter event.

Fun at the Ball for One and All

Posted in Blog on December 15th, 2014 by Webmaster

The MCHQWA Ball is always a fun experience, showing girls that Rainbow is not always Ritual and floorwork. Girls come from all over the State to have fun with not only their Rainbow Sisters but also their DeMolay Brothers and Job’s Daughters Sisters. On September 27th all the organizations came together to have fun, sing, dance and eat snacks at the Kena Shrine Temple. It was a great day and a fun experience!
