Order of the Amaranth Opening Session

On Thursday February 13th, 2020, Virginia Grand Court had their opening session where Manassas Assembly was represented by Gigi, Dalanie and Mom Priscilla. Mom Ann Bailey presided as Grand Royal Matron.  Sister Sara from Hampton Assembly gave the flag tribute for the Amaranth Flag. We heard speeches from the various heads of the Masonic bodies. I spoke on behalf of Virginia Rainbow, talking about how Amaranth helped my family when my brother was sick in 2008. Overall it was a very nice day!

Grand Court Order of Amaranth Installation

Posted in Blog on June 9th, 2020 by Christi Reed

On February 15th, 2020, Grand Court Order of the Amaranth had their installation of officers. Manassas Assembly came to support Mom Sherry Whidden, who was installed as Grand Royal Matron and Dad Richard Whidden, who was installed as Grand Royal Patron. The girls in attendance were Dalanie, Gigi, and Vanessa. Mom Priscilla and Dad Tom were both installed Grand Officers. Mom Sherry requested that Rainbow do the pledge ribbon ceremony for her, so her gavel could be encircled with the colors of the rainbow.   Gigi, Sara, Dalanie, Reagan and Lorkin preformed the ceremony. Since Mom Sherry is so close to the masonic youth orders, she had Noah, Mary and Gigi speak during her speech, to give a small description of what their orders do. Past Grand Worthy Advisor Katie Whidden escorted Mom Sherry and Dad Richard, along with her brothers, for the signing of the Bible. Overall, it was a beautiful installation, and we are all very proud of Mom Sherry and Dad Richard for their work in the Order of the Amaranth.

Quantico Mother’s Day Tea – 5/3/2020

On Sunday, May 3rd, I helped Quantico Assembly perform their Mother’s Day Tea celebration.  I went to the practice before hand to be sure I knew what I was doing and went to their meeting later that afternoon.  For the ceremony, I did the part of Fidelity.  There were other members of Manassas Assembly that helped as well:  Kate B., Allison S., and Eliza S.  This was a thoughtful event during the lockdown due to COVID-19 because the Quantico Worthy Advisor, Zoe N., mailed out tea to all the mothers that said they would like some along with a special message from her.  There was a lot of participation and I was so glad that I could be part of the ceremony on that day to honor all the Rainbow moms.

Manassas Zoom Social #3 – 5/19/2020

On Tuesday, May 19th, Manassas Assembly held its third zoom social.  This time the conversation starter was who in your life has had the biggest influence on the person you have become to date?  Overwhelmingly moms where at the top of the list.  Yay moms!  We covered other topics that included:  coloring/highlighting hair, cooking/eating food, gardening & vegetables, brothers eating a lot of food, pets/cats, animals in the yard, and school in the fall.  Hope to see everyone at the next social!
