Fundraising with Krispy Kreme

Posted in Blog on April 7th, 2018 by Webmaster

The Krispy Kreme donut sales were fun because we did it together.  We sold a lot of donuts.  Joey, from DeMolay, stopped by, bought a box and helped us sell.  Rainbow Girls who were there were: Vanessa and Emma.  Pledges included Ella and Leela and Mom P was the Advisor.

We were there for around 3 hours.  Leela and I were in charge of getting people to come over while the others sold donuts at the booth.  No one could resist us!  I think we sold around 30 boxes of donuts.

I think we should do this again but next time not have as many donut boxes at each location.

The Amaranth Grand Court Installation of Officers

Posted in Blog on April 6th, 2018 by Webmaster

On February 17th, the Amaranth Grand Court of Virginia had its Installation of Officers. Those that attended were Gigi, Sydney, and myself. We all watched in awe as the Grand Court installed its members into their new offices. Mom Debbie and Dad Carl, members of our own Rainbow family, got installed in the east as Grand Royal Matron and Grand Royal Patron of Virginia. Although the room was a little hot the ceremony was beautiful and I’m so glad I was able to be there!

Haymarket OES Installation

Posted in Blog on April 4th, 2018 by Webmaster

On March 3rd, we arrived at the Haymarket Lodge at about 2pm.  We were running late because we needed to change our clothes and fix our hair from our donut sales that morning since we were bundled up from the cold temperatures and the wind.  We were surprised when we got there because the Lodge had no electricity or heat so we kept our coats on to stay warm.  Despite the cold, no light or electricity the Installation was really nice.  Dad Michael Thornton played the guitar since they couldn’t play the digital piano.  Mary Alice Baird was installed as Worthy Matron for the year and her theme this year is the Rainbow Connection.  She talked about her time as a Rainbow Girl and she had Gigi sing the song The Rainbow Connection as a solo.  Gigi had to sing it without the piano and she did a good job.  We stayed for the reception afterwards and we sold boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts to those in attendance.
