Richmond Assembly Installation 8/15/2020

On August 15th, 2020 at 6 pm Richmond Assembly #10 had its installation of officers.  This term Victoria M. was installed as Worthy Advisor for a second term.  Due to COVID-19 the installation needed to happen virtually.  I was happy and honored to serve as the Installing Recorder.  Congratulations to all the newly installed officers this term – I know you will all do great!  Victoria’s mascots this term are dinosaurs and there are two of them one is named Pickle and the other Carrot.  I look forward to seeing what this term holds!

Ashburn Assembly Installation 8/1/2020

On August 1, 2020 at 5:30 pm Ashburn Assembly had its installation of officers.  This term, Lorkin K. was installed as Worthy Advisor.  Due to COVID-19, attendance was limited so anyone without an invitation could watch over Facebook.  Congratulations to all the newly installed officers with their new stations!  I did watch the installation, but the audio wasn’t the greatest, so I wasn’t able to get all of the details planned for this term.  I do know that Lorkin’s gavel wasn’t able to arrive on time due to shipping issues with the pandemic.  However, I know that the rest of her term will be wonderful!

Virtual Supreme Assembly

Virtual Supreme Assembly July 2020

July 2020 Supreme Assembly will be one to remember.  Here’s what I will remember:  watching the information sessions on Facebook live to get all my questions answered,  the count down to the start of Supreme Assembly, watching the Supreme Assembly family business meetings, watching my VA Rainbow sisters do their presentations and participate in the Sunday devotional, drooling over the merchandise for the Supreme Assembly vendors, and watching Mom J be installed as Supreme Nature.  This was my fourth Supreme Assembly and while I wasn’t there in-person this time it was still special to me, nonetheless.  If it had been in person I don’t believe I would have been able to watch the Supreme family with their business meetings so I was able to see something that I haven’t been able to see before this.  I can’t wait to go to the next Supreme Assembly in Oklahoma!

Morning Grand Assembly Day

Morning Grand Assembly Day 7/18/2020

On July 18, 2020 early in the morning (too early for me) I took off with my mom to Richmond for this year’s Grand Assembly day.  It was so different from any VA Grand Assembly I had gone to before since this one occurred amid a global pandemic.  We arrived a little before 9am and I got changed into my grand officer dress (in the car) for the morning session.  Everything was so different since I had to walk into the building wearing a mask.  After that I had to have a temperature check, then I had to go to another table and answer questions to find out if I was at risk of having or spreading the virus.  Finally, before being able to go into the assembly room I had to be checked off a list of invited people.  The morning consisted of initiation, the memorial service, and some speeches.  Then we were released for lunch before the afternoon session.
