What I Love About Rainbow

Posted in Blog on January 15th, 2021 by Christi Reed

I first joined Rainbow on October 9th, 2018.  When I joined Rainbow, I was very shy and didn’t know how to fit in, but then girls started to talk to me.  I instantly connected with some of the girls and made some really great friends.  Rainbow has taught me how to become a leader and mature a lot more.  It has helped me become more responsible and has also helped me on my speaking skills.  It is much easier to talk in front of big crowds, and I frequently participate to read for the class in school.  If I had to choose my favorite thing from Rainbow it would most definitely be the girls.  They are so nice and fun and easy to talk to, if you are the shyest girl ever, they can get you to break out your shell in a minute.  They never judge you and may even help you with some things you are struggling with.  There is so much more about Rainbow that I love, but if I went on and on talking about it, there would be a lot more than one page.

That is what I love about Rainbow!!

Virtual MCHQWA Ball

Posted in Blog on January 14th, 2021 by Christi Reed

On September 26th, 2020, A group of Rainbow Girls and I got to attend a virtual MCHQWA Ball.  We had lots of fun.  Everyone was so excited to hear people get announced even though it was virtual.  Due to the circumstance of COVID-19, we unfortunately did not get to see everyone in person or dance, but we found solutions to still make it fun and awesome.  Our youth leadership set up a Disney Kahoot! For all the girls and boys to play. It was SO much fun! 44 people participated.  So, even though we were not able to be there in person, I am glad that we got to attend the MCHQWA Ball.

Sisterhood Weekend

Posted in Blog on January 14th, 2021 by Christi Reed

On August 29th, 2020, through the 30th, Manassas Assembly #13 hosted a Rainbow event called “Sisterhood Weekend”.  We had loads of fun.  On the 29th we all head down to Charlottesville, VA, to participate in an escape room.  All the girls and parents were SO excited.  There were two rooms, A Thomas Jefferson room and an Edgar Allen Poe room.  I was in the Edgar Allen Poe room, and it was super freaky and fun. After the escape room, we all drove to Monticello which is Thomas Jefferson’s home and ate lunch.  After we were all done eating our lunches, we got to take a tour of Monticello.  It was so cool to be able to be inside of Thomas Jefferson’s real-life house and knowing that you were walking in the same footsteps that he did.  After Monticello, we all headed to a Llama farm to camp out, and we played games ALL night.  Finally, to top it all off, when we woke up in the morning on the 30th, we got to go hiking with llamas! The llamas were so beautiful and for the most part calm.  I loved sisterhood weekend and cannot wait for the next one. It’s going to be so much fun!

Craft Fair

Posted in Blog on January 13th, 2021 by Christi Reed

On October 11th, 2020, The Prince William County DeMolay held a craft fair at Manassah Lodge.  There were many booths with different items such as, Natural honey, Paparazzi (jewelry), Norwex (cleaning supplies), Shining sol (candles/scents),  Color street (dry nail polish), Usborne books, Pampered chef, Virginia Rainbow Grand Merch, fall décor, tickets for the DeMolay Fall-Scare-Fest, Beautiful Artwork (on bottles and jackets), and snacks.  All COVID-19 and social distancing precautions were met.  Everyone had a good time getting to walk around and look at/buy cool things.  All of the booths did a wonderful job, and everyone walked out happy!  It was a great day.
