Metropolitan Lodge #11’s 150th Anniversary

Posted in Blog on December 27th, 2010 by admin

Saturday, December 11th marked Metropolitan Lodge #11’s 150th year open.  They started with a program in the lodge room. They talked a lot about the Masonic youth organizations. Many people spoke fondly of the lodge and a few people were given awards. We were told that Charlie Sarbaugh was ill with a severe respiratory illness and to please keep him in our prayers.

After the program there was a reception in the dining hall. All the girls sat and talked about the program. The girls enjoyed the program, especially the part where they talked about Rainbow for about ten minutes. Later all the girls gathered in front of the Christmas tree with Worshipful Master of Metropolitan, Tom Watkins and took a picture.  Metropolitan Lodge #11 is the sponsor of our Assembly.

Rescheduled Pledge Party and Charity Ball

Posted in Blog on December 17th, 2010 by Joseph Grist

We regret that due to the possibility of bad weather in which many would have to travel Saturday night, the Pledge Party and Charity Ball have been rescheduled for February 26, 2011. All of the events will take place on that day just as we had hoped to do this weekend on December 18. Please help us in spreading the word about the change. We hope this new date will work for everyone since the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters Dialysis Unit is a very worthy cause and the day will be full of fun.

Ritual made fun

Ritual made fun

At one of our meetings we had a Learn your Ritual Night. We went around to different stations finding out different helpful tips to learning ritual. At one station we had some of our majority members come in and tell about how they learned ritual. They  said that after learning the ritual you should say it knowing what it says. Don’t just memorize it, tell a story and put some feeling behind it.

Then we went to one of the parents and she taught us how to project our voice.  She taught us some exercises to better our muscles in our mouth.

We also got some help on memorizing. We each made our own books and we drew pictures to match the words we had to say.

At our last station we were taught floor work, how to walk right, sit right, and stand right. This meeting was a lot of fun and I learned things that really helped.
