Service Project to help DeMolay in Alexandria, VA

April 15, 2017 – On Saturday morning, we helped to set up benches and chairs at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial for their Easter Sunday service.  We arrived shortly after 9am and we brought Joella, Ashley, and Zoe in our car.  There were so many people helping that we finished in about 50 minutes which they said was a record.  From our Assembly, we had Vanessa, Joella, Zoey, Batu, M’Balu, Ashley, Zoe, and me. Our adults were Mom Paula, Dad Wyatt, Mom Jean, Mom Erin, and Mom Louisa. Once we were done, we got a large group picture and we were able to see the gift shop since it was open after the setup was complete.

This was a fun experience since we got to see so many people from Northern Virginia help in a common cause.

Manassas Easter Party

Posted in Blog on April 30th, 2017 by Webmaster

The Lodge’s Easter Party was April 15. We had games, food, and an Easter Egg hunt. We broke up in teams and went in search of eggs. Most of the Rainbow Girls gave their candy-filled eggs to the younger children. It was fun explaining how to find the eggs to a few of our Rainbow Sisters who had never had an egg hunt before. Most of the Rainbow Girls and DeMolay were together at the Temple earlier so we just continued to have fun laughing and talking together.

Overall, the party was fun and the day was great with hanging with our Masonic Family.

Masonic Youth Serve Easter Sunrise Service

Posted in Blog on April 29th, 2017 by Webmaster

On Saturday, April 15, Manassas Assembly assisted our DeMolay Brothers in setting up benches and chairs at the Masonic Temple for the Easter Sunrise Service the next day. It was a lot of fun with laughter and jokes. It was great to be able to help our Prince William Chapter brothers and the other Demolay in the area. We started at 9:00 and by 10:00, we were done. Many of the DeMolay adults said that with so many of us there it went by quickly. After we were finished, Manassas Assembly and Prince William Chapter went out together for lunch.

I hope we do this again next year!

Manassas Hosts Country Dinner

Posted in Blog on April 19th, 2017 by Webmaster

On April 8, 2017, Manassas Assembly held a Southern Country Dinner and silent auction fundraiser to benefit the special Olympics, which is the Worthy Advisor’s charity. We raised over $1,200 for her charity. Sixty seven people came to the dinner.Set up was at four o’clock, and when I got there people were already putting the decorations up. The color theme was red, white, and blue. We hung bandannas and balloons from the ceiling. We also set out items for the silent auction that we were having.

The adults were cooking in the kitchen while we were decorating. For dinner we served: fried chicken, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, gravy, cobbler or a chocolate chip cookie. Everyone loved the dinner that was made.

Girls that were there: Vanessa, Sami, Katie, Kate, Delaney, Zoe, Zoey, M’ Balu, Batu, Gigi, JoElla, Maribel, and myself.

Adult helpers were: Paula, Ange, Joanne, Louisa, Wyatt, Jean, Debbie, Clancy, Tom, Tammy, and other members of the sponsoring orders.
Other help: Preston
