Rainbow Means Road Trips

Posted in Blog on June 24th, 2018 by Webmaster

If you are ever looking for the time of your life, it is definitely in the car on the way to a Rainbow event! Sometimes the car ride itself is the best part of the trip. The trips usually start bright and early in the morning with lots of Rainbow Girls piled into one car. All of the girls are fully stocked with pillows and blankets to nap for a little bit. After a short time in the car, we usually stop by Starbucks and get caffeine and food. Shortly after this stop, everyone in the car is awake. For the next few hours in the car, it is endless singing to the radio, funny SnapChats of each other, hilarious jokes and lots of laughing!

Sometimes on road trips we take stops along the way. For example, on one road trip, we made a stop at a small beach outside of Hampton to run around and take funny pictures. Another car trip we made a stop for the restroom after one girl was needing to use the bathroom, while we were on a small road in the middle of nowhere. It took about 20 mins to find the closest bathroom but we eventually made it, even after the driver offered to stop on the side of the road to let the girl hide behind a tree and use the bathroom (the girl didn’t find it very funny!).

We have also made many stops at consignment shops along the way to find lots of great clothing and formal dresses. We always find the best stuff when we thrift shop together. Another way car rides are always entertaining is that sometimes when we stop we have to walk in to wherever we’re going in formal dresses even if it’s a gas station or fast food restaurant. I love always getting to stay up until 2 AM with my Rainbow Sisters singing our favorite songs!

Rainbow car rides will always be one of my favorite events!

Clean the Bay Day

Posted in Blog on June 23rd, 2018 by Casey Humphries

The Grand service project Clean the Bay was a total success. We did have to walk awhile to get to the area we were cleaning but it was still fun because we acted like the trash bags were kites. While we were cleaning we found a lot of crabs but no turtles this time. After we were finished we all had a picnic near the bay and I was so happy to see everyone before we go to Grand Assembly. You had such an amazing year Olivia and all of Richmond is proud of you.

The MCHQWA Ball

Posted in Blog on June 22nd, 2018 by Webmaster

On April 28, Manassas Assembly attended the MCHQWA ball. We had over 15 girls and lots of adults. Katie was introduced as Worthy Advisor and a Grand Officer. Gigi was also introduced as a Grand Officer. We all danced and hung out with the other youth groups there. It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait for the next one!

My Initiation

Posted in Blog on June 21st, 2018 by Webmaster

This February, I completed a whole year in Rainbow. In late celebration, I would like to reminisce on my Initiation.

Truly, the event was awesome. I got initiated on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2017, along with two other girls, Ashley and Mackenzie, both who just so happened to be in my homeroom class that year. My friend, Isabella got me interested in Rainbow, so I applied, and was very excited to be initiated. I knew a significant number of members beforehand from school, which were Joella, Lillian, Isabella and Zoe, and I also knew Kate beforehand, as we both went to Karate together for 5 years or so. I got initiated during Vanessa’s term, and all the Girls did well in their parts. I remember being impressed by Zoe’s progress, since she had just been installed the month before, and I saw her lip-syncing Patriotism and saying the Service part perfectly. During the initiation, I remember being slightly confused by the process, but as my time in Rainbow progressed, I came to appreciate the beauty that occurs. Little did I know, my initiation into Rainbow would lead to the best years of my life.
