Kings Dominion trip

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On May 28 a bunch of girls from Manassas Assembly and some girls from Richmond Assembly, along with some prospects and family, all went to Kings Dominion for the day. We met at the park at 11am and we split off into our own groups and just kind of did our own things. It was also Avery’s first time at an amusement park and her first time on a roller coaster and I’m so happy I got to be part of that experience for her. I also got to watch Sam do a bungie cord drop-swing thing and her scream bloody murder. But my favorite thing about the trip was I got to see and spend time with a bunch of my Rainbow sisters and we all got to have fun together.

“Big sister, little sister”

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

Manassas Assembly has this thing called “Big sister, Little sister”. When a girl gets initiated, she gets assigned a “Big Sister”.   That big sister is supposed to help guide her new little sister through Rainbow and answer any questions. I really like this, and I think it’s really helpful.  I remember when I was new in Rainbow, I was so confused and overwhelmed.  I think most girls feel that way after their Initiation and being assigned a big sister helped me.  I had someone there who I could ask questions and I wouldn’t be as nervous with. I was a little more comfortable asking questions because I was really shy and having that person really helped me. The big sisters are usually line officers when they get assigned a little sister. I fairly recently, about 4 months ago got a little sister and she has really come a long way since she has joined. She just dug right into everything, and she continues to want to learn as much as she can about Rainbow and I’m glad I could help her learn about something.   I am so proud of her, and I know she will do great things in the future.

Paint Night – May 22, 2022

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On May 22nd, I taught at the Manassas Paint Night! We had 13 wonderful artists sign up to paint a beautiful waterscape painting! As the instructor, I taught two variations of the painting for people to try, a sunrise variation and a nighttime variation! While it was a little bit stressful trying to do two paintings at once, it allowed the artists to take their time perfecting details! There were a lot of fun learning experiences that led to 13 beautiful paintings! In some paintings we had the waterscape, but in others, we had volcanoes, space, and even flying pigs! I’m so glad I got to teach such a wonderful group!

Lodge Gardening – May 15th, 2022

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On May 15th, Manassas Assembly worked on gardening at the lodge in preparation for the Grand Master’s visit! Thanks to the hard work from the Martin family, we were able to have plenty of beautiful flowers, as well as fertilizer to help the flowers grow! As an indoor person, I was thankful that my mom brought sunscreen for me, but was so happy to see the lodge once the new flowers were planted!
