Beach Day
On August 11th, Hampton and Richmond wrapped up our sleepover and headed to the beach for the state wide beach day! The day was beautiful (although I’m sure a lot of us got a little burnt by the sun). Many Assemblies came as well as Tidewater Chapter. We played lots of games. One of them you had to carry a small cup of water from the ocean to a bucket, over your head, and race to see which team could fill it up the fastest. Let’s just say a lot of people ended up with more water on their heads that in their pails. During lunch there were raffles with lots of nice prizes and I won a cute water bottle. Then we had our sandcastle building contest. There were a lot of really cool ones and Smithfield won. In between activities, everyone ran into the ocean and swam together. There were girls hoisting other girls up and doing water acrobatics while other girls just floated in the waves. It was a way everyone could have a good time and come together. This event was one for the books!
