Bowling for the Rainbow Scholarship

Posted in Blog on November 22nd, 2017 by Webmaster

On October 21, 2017, we met at Uptown Alley for Bowling.  There were so many people this year that Dad Joe Grist was very busy keeping track of everything.  Libby had her “store” so people could buy her merchandise while waiting for your turn to bowl.  I saw so many Rainbow sisters from across the State it was nice to get together and catch up.  The Rainbow group bowled until about 1pm and I’m not fond of bowling so I had my mom do it for me.  Once our lane was done with its games Mom Ange took Joella, MacKenzie, and me shopping in the mall while the other groups finished their games.  Manassas had a large group of people this time and the girls there included:  Gigi, Katie, Kate, Delanie, Zoey W., Vanessa, Zoe N., Joella, Maribel, Mackenzie, M’Balu, Batu, and me.  Parents there included:  Dad Clancy, Mom Priscilla, Dad Tom, Mom Cherry, Mom Jean, Mom Robin, Mom Ange, Mom Janette, Mom Paula, Mom Joanne, and Mom Louisa.

Manassas Goes to The Corn Maze in The Plains

Posted in Blog on November 20th, 2017 by Webmaster

On October 15, 2017, we met at The Corn Maze in The Plains.  We invited pledges, prospects, friends, and family to join us.  It was fun getting through the Maze and going on the hay ride with everyone.  Since our group was so large the girls had to get on the hay ride by themselves and they still didn’t get everyone on it! The food was good and the bees liked it too!  M’Balu lost her hot dog trying to chase the bees away.  The girls from Manassas Assembly who were there included:  Gigi, Katie, Kate, Delanie, Zoey W., Vanessa, Zoe N., Joella, Maribel, Sami, M’Balu, Batu, Akshita, Abigail, and me.  There were pledges there as well:  Ella, Cassidy, and another whose name I don’t know.  We had three prospects:  Grace, Denise and the girl that Zoey and Delanie brought who will be joining next month.  The adults who were there were:  Dad Clancy, Mom Darcy, Mom Priscilla, Dad Tom, Mom Paula, Dad Wyatt, Mom Joanne, Mom Jean, Mom Robin, Mom Ange, Mom Sasi, Mom Louisa, Mom Janette, and Mom Vanessa.  There were several DeMolay members there from various chapters.  We even met up with Ashburn Assembly and their pledges.  Ashburn Assembly brought a Mom and fellow Rainbow Girl who were in the area visiting family and they are from Savannah, Georgia.  It was a fun day all around!

Manassas helps Child ID

Posted in Blog on November 18th, 2017 by Webmaster

On October 7, 2017, Manassas Assembly helped out the Masons and the sheriff’s department with their Child ID booth.  Zoey W. organized our part of the event.  We were to sign up in two hour shifts and I was on the 11am to 1pm shift.  While I was there, I also saw Joella, Ashley, MacKenzie, Zoey W., M’Balu, Batu, Delanie, Gigi, Alyssa, Katie, Sami, and Maribel, but since I didn’t work the early morning shift I didn’t get to see everyone that was there.  Unfortunately, I got sick from the lunch I had while working and was unable to work the Spaghetti Dinner that was later that afternoon and into the evening, but I did come get the food and it was delicious!

Manassas goes to the Pumpkin Patch

Posted in Blog on November 16th, 2017 by Webmaster

On Sunday October 15th, Manassas Assembly, Ashburn Assembly, Herndon DeMolay, and Prince William DeMolay, met up at the pumpkin patch in the plains. There was hay ride in which we all rode on and since our group was so big we split into two cars, the adults and boys in one car and the girls in another (the girls’ car was better than the boys). Besides the hayride there was a corn maze, obstacle course, a line maze, slides, mini-hay maze, pumpkin shooting, barrel roll, bean bag toss, and a small animal farm. There were pigs, goats, and chickens. We all had a fun time and we met new and old friends.
