Easter Egg Hunt at Kena
Posted in Blog on June 12th, 2013 by WebmasterOn March 21st, Fairfax and Ashburn Assembly went to the Kena Shrine and stuffed over 7,000 eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. We made an assembly line and at one end of the table we passed eggs around and filled them with candy, and then we ended up throwing the eggs (gently) to the bin in the center of the table. When we were done, we filled about over 10 boxes full of eggs. We were able to get all the eggs done quickly, which was appreciated by the Shriners. Ashburn then came out on Saturday to help hide the eggs and make sure that everything was ready to go when all the kids showed up for the annual egg hunt and clown show. We had a great time helping them!

Fredericksburg’s Memorial Day Weekend
Posted in Blog on June 12th, 2013 by WebmasterOver the Memorial Holiday Fredericksburg Assembly #12 had a busy weekend full of service and remembrance for all of our fallen heroes. On Saturday afternoon we put together luminaries and placed them on the graves of war veterans in the Masonic Cemetery in Downtown Fredericksburg. It was a beautiful night and tribute. On Monday the Masons of Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4 hosted their annual Memorial Day March. It started at the cemetery with a few short speeches and a close look at one of the veterans in the cemetery, Colonel Stanard. Then we marched to the Hugh Mercer statue where we heard a wonderful speech given by Delegate Bobby Orrock.
