Supreme Webinar – 5/23/2020
On Saturday, May 23rd, the GWAs from the west coast jurisdictions hosted a Supreme Webinar for all of Rainbow. They divided everyone into regions and assigned a color for each region to wear for the webinar. Our region was assigned indigo. The webinar started with music playing until everyone could be admitted from the waiting room and at one point there were 276 participants!
Then there was an introduction from the west coast GWAs and told everyone that the jurisdictions would each have their own activity. The jurisdiction of Oregon had everyone vote their way through a do your own adventure story. Washington/Idaho jurisdiction did a craft with a pull origami card/envelope. California jurisdiction created a scavenger hunt for the following items: something holding a Rainbow memory; something Disney; school spirit; something representing a hobby of yours; the speed round to get a writing utensil, paper, and scissors. With the speed round items we created heart beats to send a message to someone of our choosing. Finally, Nevada jurisdiction taught everyone the Rainbow chant. Our own Alyssa K. commented that we use it at our Rainbow retreat in Virginia.
Once all the jurisdictions completed their activities, we were able to hear from Celine the GWA from Ohio who was also selected to be the acting Supreme Worthy Advisor for Supreme 2020. She apologized for not being able to attend the entire webinar, but she had a perfectly good excuse because it was also her birthday and they were finally open enough in Ohio that she could go out to dinner with her family.
After Celine was done, we were able to hear from Joanie Jacka the Supreme Worthy Advisor. She had encouraging words for everyone and was so happy to see so many international participants from Brazil and Bolivia that were able to join us.
The Supreme Webinar closed after hearing final words from each of the west coast GWAs. Before leaving they took pictures of everyone dressed in their assigned regional color and it took time because we were divided onto 11 screens during the zoom meeting. It was fun seeing so many people and so many types of Mickey ears!
